Imperial Fringe Online Game Chat Session Log August 24th 2003
19:42:16 - Kit: Since we are all here, how about getting started?
19:43:03 - Kraiger: I'm ready...
19:43:33 - Methuslah: Certainly!
19:44:03 - Methuslah: OK. Kit was in the control room - the decryption almost completed, Kraiger and Vance were in the main corridor on the top level. The airlock was about to cycle...
19:44:36 - vance: (bated breath)
19:44:46 - Kraiger: "Sounds like we've got company! Kit, any idea who it is?"
19:44:54 - Kit: And I'm still waiting for my coffee...which I probably won't be getting
19:45:16 - Kit: Frankly, I have no Idea. Outside Sensors are all off.
19:45:32 - Kit: So I guess you'll have to check it out.
19:45:45 - vance: (vance loads up his scattergun, calmly)
19:45:52 - Kraiger: (Kraiger checks the action on his pistol)
19:45:56 - vance: (safety on)
19:45:58 - Kit: Don't get yourselves into too much trouble!
19:46:16 - Kit: It might just be the crew returning from a field trip!
19:46:18 - Kraiger: (To Vance) Is there any place we can watch the main airlock without ebing seen?
19:46:56 - vance: ("we're on a planet whose atmosphere has suddenly turned corrosive, people have disappeared, we have crazy commanders and psychic lights. yeah, we'll stay out of trouble.")
19:47:02 - Methuslah: (The main corridor has no hiding places, except for the emergency shelters.)
19:47:28 - vance: (what's an emergency shelter?)
19:50:23 - Methuslah: In any base on a world with hostile atmosphere, regs say taht there must be emergency shelters - cubbyhole supplied with emergeny oxygen, supplies, spacesuits, etc. These have transparent entrances.
19:50:38 - Kit: If there are ANY inside sensors at all, I try to access those near the airlock.
19:51:19 - Methuslah: The only systems are those connected to life support - checking atmosphere, heat, light, etc.
19:51:32 - vance: (nice regs.) vance stands in the hallway, watching the door.
19:51:50 - Kit: Oh well, then I'll at least keep an eye on those.
19:51:50 - Kraiger: "OK Vance, how about you take an emergency shelter on the left, and I'll take one on the right?"
19:52:18 - Methuslah: All systems nominal at present. Airlock in cycle - one minute to opening.
19:52:36 - Kraiger: (Kraiger moves himself into a shelter, with a view of Vance, pistol ready)
19:52:56 - Kit: ETA of our guests 1 minute
19:53:46 - vance: vance thinks a minute. "ok, but there's been no hostile action yet. try not to shoot." he ducks into a cubby.
19:53:52 - Kraiger: (Kraiger has a HEAP clip in his pistol)
19:54:25 - Kraiger: Don't worry Vance, I always ask questions first - _then_ shoot!
19:54:31 - vance: buckshot
19:54:59 - Kit: Checking my medikit, just in case.
19:55:01 - vance: "these might be my friends."
19:55:28 - Methuslah: 30 seconds to go.
19:56:51 - vance: waiting patiently
19:57:12 - Kraiger: (To Vance) Sure - but much easier to come out of cover if their friendly than to jump _in_ to cover if they're not..
20:01:21 - Methuslah: A red light flashes, and the airlock cycles.
20:01:26 - Kit: (quite some long 30 seconds!)
20:02:37 - Methuslah: (Sorry about that - had to leave my comptuer for a couple of minutes)
20:03:06 - Methuslah: The airlock cycles, and a spacesuited figure steps in. The lock sticks open, and the suited firue falls to thje floor.
20:03:11 - Kit: (get going, I've been waiting for a week now to see what comes through! )
20:03:40 - Methuslah: Kit, your warning lights have just gone on - atmosphere in the main corridor. Ou can see some early signs of corrosion developing where the bare metal is expsed.
20:04:13 - Kit: Guys, the corrosion is starting in the inner corridor. What the hell just came through the airlock?
20:04:19 - vance: vance pops out and starts working on getting the airlock closed.
20:04:28 - Kraiger: "Oh Crap - Kit! Do we have any more of that spray on sealant?"
20:04:32 - Kit: (I seal whetever internal arlocks I can seal from the control room)
20:04:35 - vance: helmet shut.
20:04:49 - Kraiger: (Kraiger runs to the lock to check if there is anyone else out there)
20:05:13 - Kit: Kraiger, ask vance where they keep such stuff here on the station. It's his turf!
20:05:21 - vance: yeah, vance glances out too.
20:06:24 - vance: hurls his gun as far down the corridor as he can to minimize its corrosion.
20:06:43 - Kit: If there are any internal air cycling systems, I try to seal the main corridor off from them. No need to spread that stuff all through the base!
20:08:01 - Kraiger: (Strugling to help shit the airlock)
20:08:16 - Kraiger: (OOps!
_shut_ the airlock! )
20:08:19 - Methuslah: Testing. Testing.
20:08:34 - Methuslah: Sorry about that - my window went blank for a minute.
20:08:39 - Kit: Well your idea MIGHT help against the corrosion!
20:08:47 - Methuslah: Air cycling sealed off - but the shutters are metal, and might not last for long.
20:09:06 - Methuslah: The airlock is jammed.
20:09:31 - Methuslah: All maintaiance stores are on the fourth level. In suits its only accssible by elevator - maintanance shafts too small.
20:09:41 - Methuslah: You see no-one else outside.
20:09:42 - Kit: Guys, If you can find something non-metal (like spray paint) to seal of the air shutters, do so quickly. And could you get me a brief on what happened out there?
20:10:35 - Kraiger: "Vance, any ideas? We've _got_ to get this airlock unstuck!"
20:11:10 - Kit: Gyus, maybe its corroded. Can you see what is going on outside of the base? Any windows?
20:11:10 - Kraiger: "Perhaps if we get back down the corridor, I can cave in the airlock with my PGMP...."
20:11:24 - vance: (vance knows airlocks. any chance of shutting this one?)
20:12:14 - vance: 2D6: 5
20:12:27 - vance: (guess not)
20:13:21 - Kit: Hey guys, who activated the airlock anyway?
20:14:21 - Kit: (Meth, how muyh longer until the decoding is through?)
20:14:20 - Kraiger: There's someone in a vacc suit here, he's down... (Kriager will do a quick check to see if he's alive)
20:14:42 - vance: (since we're in a hostile atmosphere, there should be internal bulkheads and hatches.) "kraiger, grab our guest and haul ass to the next section." grabs the downed man, starts hauling.
20:14:54 - Kit: A medical emergency?
20:14:58 - Methuslah: Decoding complete in five minutes .
20:15:19 - Methuslah: There are windows in the rooms on the left side of the corridor.
20:15:37 - Methuslah: His biomed sensors are inoperative - he looks dead throug his faceplate.
20:15:41 - Kit: Can you get the patient away from the corrosive atmosphere in the main corridor?
20:15:54 - Methuslah: The airlock is corroding rapidly - it will soon make little difference.
20:16:16 - Methuslah: THe internal bulkheads should have sealed automatically - manual override on the wall.
20:16:35 - Kraiger: "OK" - (dragging fallen figure)
20:16:58 - vance: "let's head to the next contiguous section. through here." cycles manual override. "move in fast and shut the door fast." grabs gun on the way by it.
20:18:51 - Methuslah: The bulkhead flies down, and seals tight. There are two betweek you and the control room - the elevator is near the control room, and is protected by the same bulkhead.
20:18:58 - Kit: It seems when we arrived the corrosion wasn't anywhere as fast as now. Can you two see anything outside? I remember some windows!
20:20:02 - Kraiger: "Sorry Kit - we didn't hang around by the main airlock to see what's going on - are there any wondows in this section?"
20:20:12 - vance: (I'm a bit lost here, sure could use a graphic)
20:20:56 - vance: vance tries the manual override.
20:21:29 - Kit: "colorful curses" how are we ever going to find out whats going on here if you don't remember to look. Do I have to do Everything myself!
20:21:48 - Methuslah: There are two more bulkheads you can close betweek you and the main control room. Three rooms on each side of the main corridor - all the ones on the left have windows.
20:22:56 - Kit: And what about the patient. Can you tell anything about his condition? (Im going over my spacesuit again, checking and if necessary refreshing the sealant over all exposed metal parts)
20:23:14 - Methuslah: YOur spacesuits are all secure.
20:23:26 - Kraiger: "I'm not going to stand there and let my suit rust away just to look at the scenery!"
20:24:05 - Kraiger: "He doesn't look good - you'd better come and take a look..."
20:24:09 - Kit: I dont want you to enjoy the scenery, but I DO want to know what is happening outside. A short look won't harm you!
20:24:17 - Kraiger: (Kraiger will move into one of the rooms and look out of the window)
20:24:56 - Kit: Get him to a room that can be sealed off separately. Maybe one of those emergency shelters. I'm coming. (How much longer for the decoding process?)
20:25:21 - vance: vance checks the downed man, gets his helmet off (I assume we're now in a reasonably safe area). status?
20:25:50 - Methuslah: The air outside is thick, and foggy - amazing as the atmosphere should not be thick enough to fog over. The window itself is growing cloudy...
20:25:59 - Methuslah: Two minutes.
20:26:46 - vance: (is this base able to withstand a severely corrosive atmosphere?)
20:26:47 - Kraiger: "Vance, have you ever seen anything like this here?"
20:27:23 - vance: "here? no." how's the downed man?
20:27:29 - Kit: I try to seal off as much of the station as I can from the control room. Turning off air cycling everywhere to faciliate this. Which area would be safe the longest?
20:27:56 - Kraiger: (remmebring something) Hells teeth, this is probably rotting away all the antennas - Vance, what is the code to get into the comms room - I have _got_ to clal the fleet!"
20:29:18 - vance: "code is _insert correct number here_"
20:29:31 - Kit: As we are currentlc in the thick of this corrosion fog whatever, we are probably also in the thick of the comm-block. But try it. We really have to get the message out.
20:30:35 - Kit: (as soon as the decoding process is complete, I download the decoded data into my portable comp, then head for the patient as soon as the base is sealed as much as I can manage.
20:31:15 - Kraiger: (Kraiger runs to comms)
20:31:37 - Methuslah: The lower level will be safe the longest - it could last for several hours.
20:31:59 - Methuslah: The communications system is inoperative.
20:32:43 - Kit: meaning the lab area with the biohazard will be exposed in a few hours! Vance, can you find out what the hell is causing this corrosion?
20:33:09 - Kraiger: "The comms sytem is toast..." (anything I can do about it? computer-0 2D6: 4 )
20:33:44 - vance: (I assume there is a lab here?)
20:33:59 - Methuslah: The labs are on level three -that area is sealed off.
20:34:06 - Kraiger: "Perhaps we'd better get the shuttle ready for launch..."
20:34:11 - Methuslah: The system is fine - but you can't get reception.
20:34:16 - Kit: Safe against corrosion?
20:35:53 - vance: (is a computer net comm link in range? vance will try to access it with his occular device.)
20:36:04 - Kit: I think we should evacuate as soon as possible, I'd like to look at the patient first though. And if we have to fly the shuttle out through that corrosive fog, I do hope it can manage that. Vance, can you start sealing off the exposed parts of the shuttle, especially any critical parts?
20:36:24 - Methuslah: It's made of the same material as the rest of the base.
20:37:01 - Kit: meaning it won't hold forever. (I assume the decoding and downloading is finished now?)
20:37:42 - vance: "yeah, in a minute." (how's the patient?)
20:37:43 - Kraiger: "I'll do what I can with the shuttle" (Kraiger heads back to the shuttle bay, and searches for something to seal up the outside of the shuttle with)
20:37:53 - Methuslah: Yes. All files are now accessible through the program.
20:38:34 - Kit: (heading for the patient with the data tucked safely in my comp and the comp tucked safely inside a sealed plastic bag!)
20:38:54 - Kit: Oh wait, a short look at the last few entries!
20:39:10 - Kit: while downloading the data to my comp.
20:40:46 - Methuslah: The log entries are routine up until the final entry. This feaures the Assistant Computer Tech. yelling into the log in some sort of strange language, none of which you can make out. He switches to Anglic for the last sentance. "You have doomed us all."
20:41:55 - Kraiger just entered this channel
20:41:58 - Kit: OK, downloading everything from the last few days and then heading for the patient.
20:42:06 - Kraiger: (Sorry, computer crash...)
20:42:36 - Kit: Vance, do you have any idea what kind of language that is? (btw, from wehn exactly is the last entry?)
20:43:05 - Methuslah: (You've never heard anything like it.)
20:43:15 - Methuslah: Last entry was made twelve hours ago.
20:44:21 - Kit: This whole matter is more than strange. And i wonder how coffee started to go that bad in just 12 hours. We should evacuate soon. (still heading fro that patient)
20:45:36 - Methuslah: The patient is deceased - some time ago, by the look of it. He resembles the computer tech.
20:45:52 - Kit: Some time ago? can you be more specific?
20:45:52 - Kraiger: "I don't want to say this but - I have a feeling that the base personel must be on level 3 - though I'm not sure what we could do to help them even if we could get through the seal (how big is the shuttle?)"
20:46:02 - Kit: Minutes, hours days?
20:46:51 - Kraiger: "Some time ago??? The (wondering) cycled (rushing to a window) the air-lock???"
20:47:25 - Methuslah: Maybe six hours.
20:47:36 - vance: "ma'am, can you open level three yet?"
20:48:07 - Kit: He has been dead for six hours. Someone else must have dropped him in the airlock. Someone whoe obviously brought the corrosion stuff with him.
20:48:09 - Kraiger: "Some time ago??? Then who... (wondering) cycled... (rushing to a window) the air-lock???"
20:48:48 - Kit: I can open level three, by hand. But we should have the shuttle and an emergency escape ready! I dont want to stay here any longer than I have to!
20:49:55 - vance: "if we have a few hours, let's use them. if the elevator won't stop on level three how do you plan to enter it by hand?"
20:49:58 - Kraiger: "Hey Kit, for once you're talking sense!!!"
20:50:04 - Kit: Any visible cause of death on the man?
20:50:30 - Kit: through an auxiliary hatch at (describe what I found in the stations plans)
20:50:40 - Kraiger: (can i make out anything through the window?)
20:51:03 - Methuslah: YOu see none - an autopsy would be required.
20:51:31 - Kraiger: "Vance - if someone else cycled the airlock, they may open the next bulkhead - Can you seal it so it can't be over-riden from the outside?"
20:51:40 - Kit: I'm afraid we don't have time for an autipsy. If my medical scanner cannot pick up anything.
20:51:50 - vance: "doesn't a basic autopsy take about five minutes?"
20:52:22 - Kit: That would be checking the body for outward injuries, which is, I assume, what I have just done.
20:52:57 - Kit: Cutting him open and checking all the organs requires much more time and a laboratory for the chemical analysises!
20:54:10 - Methuslah: The medical facilities are all on Level 3, in any case.
20:55:18 - Kit: Suggestion: one of us prepares the shuttle for a quick takeoff, the others open level 3 to see what we can find out there, and then we try to get out of here ASAP.
20:55:47 - Kit: We can take the corpse along to level 3 and mabe we have time for some more there.
20:55:58 - vance: (the one shuttle was ready to fly, yes?)
20:56:58 - Methuslah: (That shuttle was ready to go - two minutes after boarding, you can be in the sky.)
20:57:52 - Kraiger: "Listen, that corpse didn't walk in here by itself! Unless there was a system malfunction, _someone_ must have cycled the airlock...
20:58:02 - Kit: OK, then let's prepare our way to the shuttle hangar, seal up everything else and go into level 3 ok?
20:58:28 - Kraiger: (thinking) - "Well, I guess it could have been a short from the corrosion. Kit, any way we can tell? I would _really_ like to know if there is someone else out there...."
20:58:33 - Kit: Do you want to go outside and check? Ous suits should be sealed against the corrosion, at least for a while.
20:59:34 - vance: "suppose someone is out there, just what do we do?"
20:59:41 - Kit: Well, even if the airlock was cycled through a shortout, a corpse doesnt walk into the airlock by itself, and I donÄt rel´call seeing him in there when we went through.
21:01:42 - Kraiger: "Someone who cycles an airlock, pushes a corpse through and lets the corrosion into the base? Well, I know what _I'm_ going to do...."
21:03:04 - vance: takes kraiger's arm. "how 'bout we just gather data here and leave? there are still a lot of soldiers waiting for us to pick them up."
21:03:16 - Kraiger: OK, the shuttle is our only way out of this - how about I stay here and guard it and you two look at level three - or, we could just forget level three and get the hell out of here!"
21:03:34 - Kit: If you want to make a sortie outside, Kraiger, we should do it quickly. We are running out of time.
21:05:02 - Kit: I am very curious about thet level. I'd like to take alook inside. You with me vance?
21:06:07 - Kit: Kraiger, try to seal off as much of the shuttle as you can. Be liberal with the coat. Most of it will be scraped off in the kind of quick takoff I am planning to get us out of the corrosive atmosphere before the shuttle breaks down.
21:06:10 - vance: "yes, if we have time."
21:06:39 - Kit: We don't have much time, but we can spare half an hour or so.
21:06:39 - Methuslah: You should have a few hours, IF matters remain the same.
21:06:40 - vance: "don't forget we'll be going back down and up again."
21:07:15 - Kraiger: "OK" (Kraiger continues shuts the door to the hanger behind them, then leans something against the door so it will make a noise if someone opens it)
21:07:24 - Kit: OK, let's get going.
21:07:25 - Kraiger: (Continues sealing the ship)
21:07:50 - Kraiger: (suit radio) "Vance, Kit. You still read me?"
21:08:06 - Kit: Kraigerm keep comms open and give occasional ok', even if there is nothing new at your side. We'll do the same so that we can keep up to date.
21:08:30 - Methuslah: You enter the elevator, and it come to a halt at Level 3. The hatch is sealed, and will not open automatically.
21:08:44 - Kit: Reading you fine Kraiger (I assume) Heading for auxiliary hatch now.
21:09:02 - Kit: OK, ready to override it. 2D6: 11
21:09:38 - Kit: Vance, keep your suit well sealed!
21:09:44 - vance: shotgun ready.
21:09:54 - Kraiger: (suit radio) "check"
21:09:56 - vance: "yep."
21:10:25 - Kit: (comm) overriding door now.
21:10:46 - Methuslah: A shower of sparks flies out - you've managed to override the locks. If you open the door at this point, you will not be able to seal it again.
21:11:31 - Kit: Any other method of sealing off the floor if necessary? Like sealing off the whole elevator shaft?
21:12:02 - Kit: We can go in now, but we probably won't be able to seal the door again.
21:12:17 - vance: "do it."
21:12:45 - vance: "lowering the elevator will seal it off enough."
21:12:48 - Kit: OK, (opening the door, ready for anything)
21:13:08 - Methuslah: There are no systmes for that, I fear.
21:13:52 - Kit: Say Vance, what have your people been doing here?
21:13:53 - Methuslah: The door opens, and you external alarms go off - the whole area is in vacuum. A pair of bodies, dead of decompression, push out from beside the door and start to float down the corridor, which is on eremrgncy lighting.
21:14:31 - Kit: float? is there no gravity?
21:14:39 - Kraiger: "Kit, whats happening? I heard the alarms go off"
21:14:58 - Kit: Level 3 is in vacuum. Two more corpses.
21:15:37 - Methuslah: Sorry - slip of the keyboard. Should have been 'fly down the corridor'.
21:15:39 - vance: (there haven't been any corpses here yet, except these two.)
21:15:41 - Kit: We are going in now. Vance, do you recognize these people?
21:15:59 - Methuslah: The atmosphere in the elevator has esecaped into the corridor, into the vacuum.
21:16:08 - vance: (is the space charging up, or is all the air draining away?)
21:16:14 - Kit: Two more besides the one we are dragging with us.
21:16:17 - Methuslah: The atmosphereic pressure seems to have dropped, even below the outside.
21:16:24 - Methuslah: The air is draining away.
21:16:36 - vance: "I do/do not 2D6: 8 recognize them."
21:17:23 - Kit: Well, someone has taken great care to create a vacuum here. Is that a standard security procedure for biohazard situations?
21:18:07 - Kit: (entering level 3 to give it a quick check)
21:18:20 - Methuslah: There is nothing much left to recognize.
21:18:24 - vance: "not recoverable ones. but you're the doc, ma'am."
21:18:41 - Methuslah: It is an emergency option in biohazard - to prevent the growth of dangerous biologicals.
21:18:48 - vance: (corroded too?)
21:18:52 - Kit: We have closed all available seals through the station. until they corrode, they should preserve the atmosphere in most of the station.
21:19:32 - Kit: Lets check the level quickly.
21:20:05 - Kit: Do the corpses have any nametags or other identifying markers on them?
21:20:39 - vance: "let's check the labs first, corpses if we have time."
21:20:50 - Methuslah: All the individual labs have locked down. The coprses have ID tags - one is J.D. Peters, the other I. J. ISheggi.
21:21:09 - Methuslah: Both names are familir to Vance - biological researcehrs recently transferred.
21:21:10 - Kit: It seems they died when the level was decompressed. Messy death that.
21:21:34 - Kit: Any windows to the lags or any security station?
21:22:48 - Kit: Or any other way to look into the labs without having to open all the doors?
21:23:15 - Kit: Any logfiles or computer terminals accessible from the corridor?
21:23:15 - Methuslah: All labs locked down ------- plain grey metal. There are manual overridese.
21:24:29 - vance: (are the labs still pressurized?)
21:24:35 - Kit: We are here now Vance, lets check at least a few labs, ok?
21:26:27 - Methuslah: No way to tell.
21:26:45 - vance: "sure, let's just not get blown back."
21:26:47 - Kit: OK, opening the first lab.
21:27:34 - Kit: (comm) Kraiger, everything ok down there?
21:27:48 - Kraiger: "OK here"
21:27:53 - Kit: Now opening Door to Lab (insert Number).
21:28:21 - Methuslah just entered this channel
21:29:06 - Methuslah just entered this channel
21:29:49 - Methuslah: Guys - I'm having intermittent connection problems. Will contniue for the moment but do not be surprised if I drop out.
21:30:07 - Kit: OK.
21:30:19 - Kit: Still opening first lab.
21:31:01 - Methuslah: The lab is marked 'Biologic Computer Processing.'
21:31:03 - vance: (how's the air level on our vacc suits?)
21:31:27 - Methuslah: It opens up to revela a room in turmoil - in vacuum. A dead reseracher sits at the console, and the main computer screen is smashed.
21:31:35 - Methuslah: Air level nominal - good for 48 hours.
21:32:05 - Kit: Smashed? from what?
21:32:39 - Methuslah: Exposure to vacuum - the systems were not vacuum-proofed in this section.
21:33:12 - vance: (vance checks for any online systems using his occular device - anything transmitting?)
21:33:31 - Kit: (hmm, a normal monitor IS already basically a glass tupe filled with vacuum. Outside vacuum shouldn't harm it at all!)
21:34:28 - Kit: Is there any way to attach another monitor (like that of my portable comp) to it to see what the scientist was doing?)
21:34:46 - Methuslah: It was the pressure differential - outside atmosphere going from 1atm to 0.01atm in a few seconds. Your potacomp will work fine, however.
21:35:49 - Kit: Geez, it is kinda difficult to have the atmosphere pressure drop that fast without opening a hatch to open space.
21:36:12 - Kit: OK, attaching my comp to chel the local system, especially any logs.
21:36:26 - Kit: Vance, can you check out any notes you can fidn around here?
21:36:55 - vance: "checking"
21:38:48 - Methuslah: All the notes appear to have been on the computer. They seem to have been running a computer seach for material on energy-based life systems, with a specific reference to corrosive type atmospheres.
21:39:30 - Kit: Seems they have been at the problem. When was the last entry? And did they find any useful info?
21:40:07 - Kit: Can this system be used to analyze the data from the shuttles atmosphere scans?
21:40:39 - Kit: And when are the first references to this problem?
21:42:09 - vance: "ma'am, if you've found something, perhaps you should just download it and we should move on."
21:42:15 - Kit: (Comm)Kraiger we are in the first lab, one more casualty. The scientists here seem to have studies the problem of energy-lifeforms and corrosive atmosphere.
21:42:34 - Methuslah: The search had been in progress for two hours - they were running some very specific search runs.
21:42:53 - Kit: (if the scientists have collected any data as a result of their query, I will download it)
21:42:55 - Methuslah: The last entry was two hours before the last log was recorded.
21:43:16 - Kit: What were the exact specifications of the search run?
21:43:29 - Methuslah: The data run completed automatically - highly specific biological information - ts liek a foreign langauge to you.
21:43:58 - Kit: I'll download it. maybe someone else can make use of it.
21:44:16 - Kit: OK, Vance. Lets check the other labs.
21:44:44 - Methuslah: Data download complete - just a few files.
21:44:53 - Kraiger: "Kit, I'm getting itchy down here - if there's no sign of life, lets get out of here..."
21:45:04 - Kit: Can this system be used to analyze the data from the shuttles atmosphere scans?
21:45:25 - Methuslah: The next lab is marked 'Medical Section: Two'.
21:45:44 - Kit: (comm) we have found some data, but its very scientific. we downloaded it. Vance, let's check the other labs quickly.
21:46:00 - Kit: Medical, that might be intersting. opening it.
21:46:10 - vance: "movin' out."
21:46:40 - Kit: Kraiger, how far are you with sealing the shuttle?
21:47:02 - Methuslah: The door opens to reveal a small medical laboratory. This room is also in vacuum, with one body slumped over another. The doctor seems to have been performing an autopsy.
21:47:09 - Methuslah: Shuttle ready to fly.
21:47:42 - Kit: OK, checking what/who he was working on and checking fro any notes.
21:47:58 - vance: "before we open the next hatch, let's try knocking first to see if anyone is in there."
21:48:14 - Kit: downloading any computer logs of the last few hours if available. moving quickly.
21:48:37 - Kraiger: "Ready to go Kit..."
21:49:09 - Kit: (Comm)Medical lab, two more casualties, one of them probably dead before the vacuum here killed everyone else.
21:49:13 - vance: vance looks around the room, carefully, looking for anything of interest.
21:49:17 - Kraiger: "I say we take off and nuke 'em from orbit - its the only way to be sure."
(sorry, wrong movie!)
21:49:58 - Kit: Go ahead vance. I'm not sue if there is anyone alive down here, but why don't you check it while I try to gather the data available here.
21:50:22 - vance: kraiger: "could we cause any more damage than has already been caused?"
21:50:28 - Kit: Well Kariger, I know you like big guns, but I had no idea you had a portable pocket nuke with you!
21:51:04 - Kit: Well if you ask me, this looks like a future red zone planet to me. But we should try to gather all available data nevertheless.
21:51:10 - vance: after looking around, vance knocks on the other doors, putting his helmet to the bulkhead to hear any return knock.
21:51:26 - Kraiger: "Sorry, that's an in-joke from my bug-hunting days back in the corps... No nuke on me I'm afraid"
21:51:42 - Methuslah: You manage to find the doctor's portacomp - it seems to be intact - she appears to have been dicating something into the recorded.
21:52:30 - Kit: OK, pocketing it for later perusal. Cause of death of patient obvious at one glance?
21:55:56 - Methuslah: The decompression has ruiend any traces.
21:56:41 - Kit: Then I will continue on toi the next lab. Vance, any answer to your knock?
21:56:56 - Methuslah: No responses.
21:57:07 - Kit: (btw, any sign on my scanner of what might have triggered the bio alert?
21:57:52 - Methuslah: As you are looking in the corridor, you can see a red light winking on across the elevator shaft, and can see a familiar corrosion expanding across the wall.....
21:58:00 - Methuslah: More next week, on the Imperial Fringe...
21:58:12 - vance: ("well boys, what were you up to down here?")
21:58:46 - vance: (tune in next week. same bat time, same bat channel.)
21:58:47 - Kraiger: Phew, this is getting hairy!
21:58:54 - Kit: I'm afraifd we won't find out this week. (darn cliffhangers)
21:59:10 - Kraiger: See you next week!
21:59:24 - Methuslah: See you next week!
21:59:32 - Kit: yup. But at least we ahve a shuttle and can blast off quickly (and ASAP if you ask me!)
21:59:52 - Kit: I just hope we can escape the corrosion before the shuttle breaks down.
22:00:12 - Kit: see you all next week.
22:00:14 - Methuslah: Well find out next week.
22:00:26 - Methuslah: Bye!
