Imperial Fringe Online Game Chat Session Log 02.02.2003
20:38:03 - Kit: Fine with me. I got my cup of coffe and an interested audience.
20:40:08 - Methuslah: Well, last week, Kit made a coffee machine.
20:40:45 - Kit: And told some morale boosing stories.
20:41:02 - StewartBailey: Jack of all trades skill?
20:41:34 - Kit: Yes, and MANY years of experience! = Many Stories to tell!
20:42:16 - Methuslah: Kit has been working on the auxiliary generators in her spare time, while Bailey and Kraiger have been preparing a defence perimeter. It sounds as though the battle does not go well, at this time, with the enemy controlling several decks.
20:42:45 - StewartBailey: I hope we brought the PGMP with us.
20:43:51 - Methuslah: Yes, you have your PGMP.
20:45:17 - Kit: Hey, I got my coffee, you got your big gun. Thats some good news for a change!
20:46:25 - Methuslah: Kit, you have managed to bring the auxiliary generator online, which you can use to boost your communicators. Which of you have communications skill?
20:47:13 - StewartBailey: I believe that I have comm-1
20:47:17 - Kit: (All I can offer is Jack of all Trades 2)
20:47:30 - StewartBailey: Even better.
20:48:11 - Kit: (Is ist? I actually don't know what exactly that skill does, except that I can pretty much try out anything)
20:48:46 - Methuslah: Comm-1 would be better in this situation. 6 or over, then.
20:49:12 - StewartBailey: 2D6: 8
20:50:06 - Methuslah: You manage to connect the reactor to the commnuicator. Breaking through the interference was essentially a matter of crude power, and you can now try to contact the bridge.
20:51:09 - StewartBailey: (I'll try to reach the bridge and see what the situation there is. Maybe they can give us some information on the tactical situation also.)
20:53:11 - Methuslah: The bridge is not responding to your hail.
20:53:35 - Kit: Thats not good.
20:54:05 - StewartBailey: Rats. I can't reach the bridge. (Is there an alternate location that they might be in that I can try?)
20:54:33 - Kit: Can you catch anything from outside the ship? To see how tha space battle is going?
20:55:08 - Methuslah: (There are any number of alternate points - life support, hanger control, communications, navigation deck, gunnery control...)
20:55:58 - StewartBailey: Let me try. (Trying to raise any of the ship's command staff from the alternates places.)
20:57:10 - Methuslah: "Hanger Control. Lieutenant Chambers here. Identify yourself."
20:58:57 - StewartBailey: "Lieutenant, Stewart Bailey here, we just arrived on a shuttle before the Zhodani attacked, and we're trapped <wherever we are>. We're trying to coordinate a defense against the Zhodani, but can't reach any of the ship's staff."
21:01:46 - Methuslah: "I've been having similar problems, sir. Internal comms seem to be out. I've got a platoon of marines here - do you need backup?"
21:02:41 - Kit: (there are some marines here as well, maybe we should try to collect our forces?)
21:04:50 - StewartBailey: "We have <insert number> marines here now, and we're expecting company from the Zhodani in a few minuntes. We could probably use the marines."
21:05:50 - Methuslah: "I'll see what I can do sir. I can spare a squad, but I'll need to protect the rest. Our fighters are coming back in."
21:06:15 - Kit: (does he know anything about the space battle?)
21:07:26 - StewartBailey: "Fair enough. What can you tell us about the battle outside?"
21:08:53 - Methuslah: "Haven't you heard? We've got 'em on the run! Looks like the Kiniuir's managed to chase off the carriers. We believe at least three hundred Zhodani have boarded, but not all of them marines."
21:09:40 - StewartBailey: "Great news. We will do our part here. Good luck."
21:09:57 - Kit: (does he know anything about the pin... what the wasp was warning us about?)
21:10:15 - Methuslah: "Roger sir."
21:11:20 - StewartBailey: (I'm not sure what you're referring to. Maybe it's easier if Kit asks directly?)
21:12:29 - Kit: (comm) Sir? We had some short communication with the auxilliary bridge a while back and they warned us about eth pin.... then the line broke. Do you have any idea, what they were referring to?
21:13:09 - Methuslah: "Not sure, ma'am. Perhaps he was talking about the pincer movement. I understand the bridge was taken from both sides at once."
21:13:24 - Kit: Their exact words were, i bleive: You are vulnerable where you are. Watch out for a pin...."
21:14:00 - Kit: Ok, well thanks, we will be alert and do our best.
21:14:38 - Kit: (looking around the storage bay, is there any place that we could fortify better?)
21:14:56 - StewartBailey: (How many marines do we have?)
21:16:32 - Kit: Maybe we could improvise some sort of fortification, or at least some safe, sealed place for the wounded.
21:16:45 - Methuslah: Twenty-seven, counting officers.
21:17:09 - Kit: If I recall it correctly, the hangar was the only thing around here not in vacuum and the marines had set up an improvised airlock on the entrance.
21:17:53 - Kit: We must prepare our defense outside that. Otherwise if the dorr is blown up, all the wounded will be in bad trouble!
21:18:34 - Kit: (is there a small room or something that the wounded could be safely sealed in?
21:18:47 - StewartBailey: Exactly. (Do the marines have equipment to let them operate in vacuum?)
21:19:17 - Methuslah: Therer are sufficient spacesuits in the cargo bay for them to operate, but they are no combat hardened.
21:19:18 - Kit: (they all have suits, at least they had last time)
21:20:32 - StewartBailey: That's not good. The Zho will be in combat armor, probably. If the marines meet them in just vacc suits, they will be at a severe disadvantage. Maybe that's the best plan, though.
21:21:03 - Kit: Well, since we have no combat armor, we have little choice, do we?
21:21:32 - Kit: Maybe we can construct some kind of fortifications right outside the hatch. That might give us aslight edge.
21:22:13 - Kit: If we wait inside for them to blow up dhe door, we'd be in an even worse situation.
21:22:58 - Kit: (I'll check all possible entrances into the storage bay and, if possible, seal any besides the main one.)
21:23:11 - StewartBailey: Let's see what's available to create field-expedient fortifications in this cargo bay...
21:23:53 - Kit: (to medics) do you have enough respirators/suits/whatever for the woundend, should we lose the atmosphere in this area?
21:24:43 - Methuslah: You have a large number of steel crates, containing a variety of products. Electrical generating equipment, survival gear, prssurized shelters, and medical supplies.
21:26:03 - Kit just entered this channel
21:26:35 - Methuslah: It'd be difficult to get them into suits - impossible for some.
21:26:59 - Kit: OK, we'll set up some of the pressurized shelters in cover behind several steel crates and put the wounded in them for safety.
21:27:29 - StewartBailey: This stuff looks like it will at least provide some cover. Let's get it outside the hatch and create some sort of barrier against the Zho.
21:29:44 - StewartBailey: (That's probably a good job for Kraiger to take on.)
21:29:56 - Kit: Once the wounded are safe, I will use some other crates to construct a secondary waal of cover just inside the arilock.
21:30:37 - Kit: And I'll put the coffee machine in a well covered position as well!
21:32:12 - Methuslah: Kraiger nods, dons a vacc suit and calls a few suited marines over. The start to empty one of the crates.
21:34:17 - Kit: He can use the empty crates from the pressurized shelters as well.
21:35:31 - StewartBailey: (Do we have any idea of how close the Zho might be?)
21:35:40 - Kit: Does the survival gear contain anything that could be useful in setting up a defense?
21:36:37 - Kit: I'm afraid not. (Meth, now that we have power, could I get at least some of the surveillance hardwere up and running?)
21:37:01 - Methuslah: It is mostly pressurized shelter components, light tools, packed rations, that sort of thing."
21:37:35 - Kit: Well, we certainly can stand a siege of some length.
21:40:25 - Methuslah: You'll need to prepare a second generator to do so, it will require your power. Also, some of the connections might have been damaged, so you are unliekly to get complete coverage.
21:41:04 - Kit: I'd be happy with some coverage. It would be better than nothing. I'll get to work.
21:41:50 - Methuslah: OK - Engineering roll, 4 or above.
21:42:02 - Kit: 2D6: 6
21:42:57 - Methuslah: Another emergency reactor is up and running.
21:43:13 - Methuslah: Another roll, 6 or over, to successfully connect it up to the surveillance net.
21:43:25 - Kit: OK, now I'll se what I can do about the surveillance equipment.
21:43:31 - Kit: 2D6: 9
21:43:52 - Kit: We should get some info now!
21:44:54 - StewartBailey: [I'll be back in a few minutes - need to get lunch for my kids]
21:45:08 - Methuslah: OK. Bon appetit.
21:45:39 - Kit: (is he gonna eat his kids
?)
21:51:09 - StewartBailey: [back for a bit]
21:53:23 - Methuslah: Right. A selection of the scanners appear active. You have a number of views on this deck, which looks to be clear. A few scans of decks reveal the zhodani to be fortifing their positions. They seem to be massing on the deck above you. Most of the circuits have been cut.
21:54:35 - StewartBailey: (How many Zhodani do we see?) Without an adequate force ourselves, maybe the best we can do is to coordinate with ship's security to make sure that they know the position of the remaining Zho.
21:55:06 - Kit: Looks like the Zho are not advancing for now. (comm to the hangar commander with a quick report of what i can see)
21:56:07 - Methuslah: You can see over a hundred, but there could be more - as I say, most of the scanners are out.
21:56:14 - Kit: (The dack above? was thet the one with the shuttle bays? and if so, how far from the Sliver are the Zhodani)
21:58:00 - Methuslah: The shuttle bays are two decks above. The deck in between is support equipment, fuel tanks, Technical workshops.
21:58:35 - Kit: They certaily have lot's of eqipment to mess with.
22:00:29 - Kit: I try to call up as many technical plans of the ship as I can, if I can reactivate the databese.
22:01:59 - Methuslah: You still have datalinks to the main computer.
22:02:11 - Kit: I'm looking for a way to prepare a surprise from the Zhodani, if possible. Something along the line of fuel tank exploding into their face (preferably without any damage to other decks), messing with the gravity on their deck and such stuff. If anything of this kind is possible.
22:03:13 - Kit: If possible I transfer the ship plans to my portable computer so that I have them handy at all times.
22:04:04 - Methuslah: You can disable the gravity on that deck from here. There might be a way to disable the fuel tanks and cause a limited reaction, but you would have to go up there yourself.
22:04:17 - Kit: Then I'll start brooding over them to determine if there are any surprises that we might prepare for the zhodani, or wether there is anything that they might think up to surprise us with that I could prepare against.
22:04:41 - StewartBailey: How about rapidly switching the gravity on and off? That should confuse them.
22:05:16 - Methuslah: Engineering check - 8 or over.
22:05:23 - Kit: If we can coordinate this with an attack, that might help. though it's risky. Can the Gravity be increased beyond 1G?
22:05:57 - Kit: 2D6:9
22:06:29 - Kit: 2D6: 11
22:06:33 - Methuslah: Theoreticall,y you could boost it as high as a hundred. To go above two, you would have to disable the safety systems, which means a visit to life support, three decks up.
22:07:08 - Kit: It would be useful. What do you think Steward?
22:07:42 - Kit: 100G should pretty much take out anything on that deck. Worth the risk eh?
22:07:55 - StewartBailey: That would certainly incapacitate them with minimal fighting,
22:08:25 - StewartBailey: Just 5G should do it. That would probably keep them pinned in place quite well.
22:08:46 - Kit: OK, let's check my date. Is it possible to use the crawlways, between decks to reach life support just as I came here?
22:09:33 - Kit: Yes, but anybody trying to collect them would be equally inhibited.
22:10:52 - Kit: (how much G to get them all unconscious?)
22:11:06 - StewartBailey: You beat me to it.
22:14:00 - Methuslah just entered this channel
22:14:12 - Methuslah: Sorry about that. Got thrown out.
22:14:32 - Methuslah: (Ten should do it, but four or five would effectively immobilize them.)
22:15:05 - Kit: No problem, just say yes to my question about the crawlways
22:15:57 - Methuslah: Yes - but as before it will be a narrow squeeze to get through.
22:16:29 - Kit: Oh well, I'm getting used to that
What do you say Steward, Do we give it a try?
22:16:44 - StewartBailey: Let's do it.
22:17:37 - Kit: OK, try to coordinate the thing with the other troops on board, but avoid the comm. The Zho might be listening in.
22:18:34 - Kit: Lets make up a code: Coffee is ready means, I'm about to cranc up the G's, Coffe's cold means I'm turning it down again, and Coffe is out means G's get turned off completely ok?
22:19:17 - StewartBailey: Got it. (Making sure that Kraiger and the marines know also.)
22:19:35 - Methuslah: "Er...yes ma'am.", replies the sergeant.
22:20:12 - Kit: I'll prepare for the squeeze, discard anything that I will not need. add a pack of grease to my equipment (for those very tight spots) memorize as much of the tour as I can (but I'll take te comp along should I need to detour), flatten the suit again etc.
22:20:52 - Kit: OK, Try to monitor my progress and warn me if you can see any Zho homing in on me ok?
22:21:22 - Kit: I'll keep my channel open but remain silent myself unless there's an emergency,
22:22:23 - Kit: I just hope the Zhos don't have an old scout among them who thinks of the same Ideas as I do. Well. Wish me luck. (prepares to crawl into the bowels of the ship again)
22:23:32 - Kit: Should we loose communication, I will proceed with the basic plan of crancing up the G's on the deck, keeping them at 10 for some minites, then turning them down again.
22:23:43 - Kit: Everything clear?
22:23:52 - Methuslah: The hatch opens easily. It is going to be a long climb up.
22:24:38 - Kit: (looking up hatch, giving out a long sight) sometimes I wonder if retirement would be all that bad!
22:24:48 - Kit: (starting to climb)
22:24:57 - Methuslah: It seems to be clear as far as you can see, but there are a lot of turns.
22:25:03 - StewartBailey: Off we go, then.
22:25:16 - Kit: I will proceed carefully.
22:25:40 - StewartBailey: This shouldn't be a problem. I spent many years on this very ship.
22:25:43 - Kit: Steward, are you coming along?)
22:26:04 - Kit: Good, then you know the turf.
22:26:36 - Kit: Kraiger is keeping command here?
22:27:00 - StewartBailey: Yes, I'm coming.
22:27:08 - Methuslah: "I'll keep an eye on things.", says Kraiger.
22:27:32 - Kit: Good, keep us posted should something happen (points to scanners)
22:28:03 - Methuslah: "Will do."
22:28:30 - Kit: Steward, you should prepare your suit for a tight squeeze.
22:28:48 - Methuslah: It is a very tight squeeze as you begin to make your way up the shafts. You follwo twists and turns in the crawlspaes for what seem to be hours, before you finally reach the halfway point. You can hear banging on the wall.
22:29:15 - Kit: (at what height are we currently?)
22:29:34 - StewartBailey: (Where's the banging coming from - what sort of compartment?)
22:29:55 - Kit: (does it sound like someone is trying to attract attention, get through or is just hammering out a tune?)
22:30:55 - Methuslah: About Deck Seven, the hanger deck level.
22:31:29 - Kit: That would be our people, hopefully.
22:31:41 - Methuslah: You aren't exactly sure where you are. It could be coming from a compartment.
22:32:00 - Kit: (any way around here to enter that level? We might tell them about our plan
22:32:23 - StewartBailey: Not a good idea, if they're Zhodani, of course.
22:32:27 - Methuslah: There is a hatch about twenty feet to the left.
22:33:11 - Kit: Now we can just ignore it or rect to it. We might also split up, I continue on, you try to find out who is banging?
22:33:26 - Kit: What do you think?
22:33:44 - StewartBailey: We can always come back orthese guys later. I would think that taking care of the Zhodani is our first priority.
22:34:30 - Kit: OK, Let's go on. (continues to crawl on)
22:35:11 - Kit: (mutter) Why do I always manage to get into such tight squeezes. I really could use a hot shower now, or better yet, a hot bath!
22:35:57 - Kit: (mutter) I'm sure they will drink up all my coffee while I'm gone.
22:36:54 - StewartBailey: Let's get this climbing over with.
22:37:43 - Methuslah: AFter another ten minutes you reach the correct level. There is a hatch in the form of a metal grid.
22:37:52 - Kit: (mutter)Exploring Egyrn, thats what I signed up for. We aint even outa Glisten sector yet.
22:38:42 - Kit: OK. Now let's hope there ain't any Zho behind this. Ready Steward? (prepare sto open hatch, carefully. maybe just an inch or so for a peek)
22:38:44 - StewartBailey: At least this ship isn't 100 years old.
22:39:47 - Kit: A well tended ship can be quite old. And a mistreated ship can be young and still in bad shape.
22:40:04 - Kit: It's not the age that metters, it's the care you give it!
22:40:16 - Methuslah: (Er...actually it is 125 years old.)
22:40:34 - Methuslah: You can see two human shapes through the grid.
22:40:45 - Kit: (Zho suits?)
22:41:06 - Kit: (signaling quiet and two people to Steward)
22:41:08 - Methuslah: You believe so.
22:41:49 - Kit: (anything else to be seen? Are there more troops nearby?)
22:42:25 - Methuslah: Not that you can see, but your view is limited.
22:43:07 - Kit: (cranking out tiny mirror and using it to peer left and right beyond the grid)
22:44:05 - Methuslah: You cannot see any more guards.
22:44:45 - Kit: (signaling to Steward) two Enemies x yards ahead. Suggestions?
22:45:12 - StewartBailey: (pointing to body pistol, then shrugging: do you want to shoot them?)
22:45:16 - Kit: (do they wear combat suits?)
22:46:10 - Methuslah: Just ordinary vacc suits by the look of them.
22:46:43 - Kit: (I'd much rather disable them without killing. Do I have a syringe with a long, strong needle and some quick acting sedative in my medical supplies? I filled them up some sessions ago?)
22:47:11 - Methuslah: A syringe would puncture their suits.
22:47:11 - Kit: (does the laser rifle have a stun setting?)
22:47:43 - Kit: (yes, but it would be a small puncture that could quickly be fixed before they suffered any major damage.)
22:48:36 - Methuslah: (No stun setting.)
22:48:50 - Kit: Dammned. Looks like we have to kill them.
22:49:05 - Kit: Or do you have another suggestion Steward?
22:49:37 - StewartBailey: No, let's just kill them.
22:50:17 - Kit: sigh. (can we both fit before the grid? to shoot at the same time?)
22:52:20 - Methuslah: (Yes.)
22:52:56 - Kit: So which one do you want? (Kit suddenly looks very old and weary)
22:53:23 - StewartBailey: I'll take the one on the right.
22:54:18 - Kit: (nods) ok, on your sign? (Kit prepares Rifle for a shot, moving very hesitantly)
22:55:06 - Kit: (mutter) dammned war, dammned fighting. (aiming for a location that will kill as cleanly, quickly an painlessly as possible)
22:55:10 - Methuslah: OK - what are your relevant skill levels?
22:55:29 - Kit: Laser Rifle 3
22:55:32 - StewartBailey: pistol-1
22:55:51 - StewartBailey: (on three, one, two, three...) 2D6: 6
22:56:10 - Kit: 2D6: 5
22:57:03 - Methuslah: You both catch the enemy in the small of the back. Their suits are torn, and they collapse. No need to roll for damage as the puncture in their suits has done enough.
22:58:13 - Kit: OK, lets be quick (removing grid, crawling out, prepared for more enmies)
22:58:58 - StewartBailey: Let's go. Maybe we can do the same for the other pockets of Zho resistance.
22:59:07 - Kit: (if there is a locker or something near, we will stuff the tow guards in there, otherwise we will just drag them to a side where they won't be seen immediately.)
22:59:11 - StewartBailey: The gravity, that is, not shooting them.
22:59:48 - Kit: Yes maybe (sounds terribly weary)
23:00:17 - Kit: (proceeding with cautious haste to Life Support)
23:00:23 - Kraiger just entered this channel
23:00:36 - Kraiger: Kraiger arrives, guns blazing....
23:00:40 - Kraiger:
23:00:57 - Kit: I hope not! We are on a stealth mission here!
23:01:03 - StewartBailey: Again, we had to do the shooting instead.
23:01:13 - Kraiger: D'oh!!!!
23:01:42 - Kit: You are back at the storage bay, coordinating the defenses. maybe you'll see some ction there?
23:01:48 - StewartBailey:
23:02:06 - Kit: We two are currently sneaking up to life support to play with the zho's gravity a bit)
23:02:11 - Kraiger: OK, I'll continue to co-ordinate...
23:02:32 - Methuslah: Kit, you and Steward reach life support with little trouble. The corridors seem largely empty. The door to LS, however, has been sealed from the inside.
23:02:55 - Methuslah: Kriager, the scannes are detecting movement in the corridors on the level above. They appear to be headign towards the shafts.
23:03:15 - Kit: Any sensor reading abou what's inside?
23:03:42 - StewartBailey: (I'll try to bang some sort of code on the door that IN crew would recognize.)
23:05:23 - Kit: ,
23:05:31 - Methuslah: The door panel has been smashed, and there is no response to your banging.
23:05:48 - Kit: Can we force the door open?
23:06:47 - Methuslah: It's a solid hatch. The only way the door could be opened is with the panel.
23:07:00 - Kraiger: (Comm to K&S) Guys, I have movement detected, headin for the shafts..
23:07:26 - Kit: Could the panel be fixed, or of not, is there any other way into ls (through more shafts)?
23:08:24 - Methuslah: Enginnering roll - 7 or above.
23:08:42 - Kit: 2D6: 8
23:09:11 - Kraiger: (What resources do I have? ANy marines I can send out to cut off the Zho?)
23:10:03 - Methuslah: With a shower of sparks, the door flies open, to reveal three men in Zhodani suits sitting at the control desks.
23:10:18 - Methuslah: YOu have twenty-five men avaliable to use, Kraiger.
23:10:31 - Kit: Rifle out, covering them.
23:10:44 - StewartBailey: I shoot the closest one: 2D6: 10
23:10:57 - Kit: If any of them grabs for their weapons, I'll fire.
23:11:22 - Kit: (sigh) shoot first, ask later eh?
23:11:39 - Kraiger: (Can I tell from the movement sensor how many are moving towards the shafts?)
23:11:44 - Methuslah: The first one falls down, his suit punctured. The other two dive for cover.
23:11:49 - StewartBailey: (the military way)
23:11:53 - Methuslah: At least forty.
23:12:02 - Kraiger: (Attaboy!
)
23:12:48 - Kraiger: Sergeant! We're pretty out-numbered here, but we may have a chance if we can pull an ambush....
23:12:52 - StewartBailey: I'll move forward, covering where they disappeared to with the pistol, watching carefully for anysign of movement. If I see anything, I'll take another shot.
23:12:56 - Kit: (dammned) moving in quickly, now that we fired first, we might as well finish it off. Firing as soon as I see a target that is not obviously surrendering.
23:13:38 - Kraiger: Lets try to set up aq kill zone here (indicating a ood spot on the deck plan). We're going to need a couple of fast men in battledress to bait them though...
23:13:40 - Kit: I need to get to the controls.
23:13:41 - StewartBailey: (there's no way to say "hands up" in a vacuum, is there?)
23:14:11 - Methuslah: The remaining two hold their hands out in front of them, palm up.
23:14:27 - Methuslah: "Sorry, sir. All we have are normal vacc suits."
23:14:51 - Kit: I signal them to move away from the controls and lie down on the floor.
23:15:25 - Kit: Stewardm keep them covered, disable their comms if possible and close the door. I gotta prepare for a coffe party.
23:15:41 - StewartBailey: Go.
23:15:57 - Kraiger: (*sigh*) OK, pick you're best runner, and send him over here to me. In the meantime, get two squads set for an ambush, with third squad covering the rear...
23:16:41 - Methuslah: "That'd be Private Grndle. Over here!"
23:16:51 - Methuslah: One of the men, rather short and thin, ambles over to you.
23:17:07 - Methuslah: "Sir?"
23:17:36 - Kraiger: Private, are you familiar with a "bait'n'run"?
23:17:36 - Kit: As soon as the Zho have cleared the controls, I'll move to them but I'll keep my rifle trained in their general direction.
23:18:11 - Methuslah: They are standing now at the far end of the cabin, keeping their hands out. The controls are open.
23:19:26 - Methuslah: "A what, sir?"
23:19:31 - Kit: I'll ceck the controls, see what I can tell about the general state of the ship. Then proceed to disable the safety. I'll let Steward take care of the Zho.
23:20:01 - Kraiger: (*Sigh*) Don't they teach you Marines anythin these days? OK, here's the basic plan. Sergeant, you had better listen to this too....
23:21:37 - Methuslah: The ship's life support appears to be functioning normally.
23:22:05 - Kit: OK, can I override the safety for the G control?
23:22:14 - Kraiger: Two squads will be set up in positions here, ready for an ambush, with a third squad waiting in reserve. The "bait" - thats you and me, private - take forward positions, and as soon as the enemy get near enough, unload as much panic fire as you can, and then run back throuh the ambush position, firing over our shoulders - with luck, the ZHo'll follow, right into a cross-fire ambush. We head on throuh, and take cover with third squad. Any questions?
23:23:09 - Methuslah: To disable the safeties, you will need to roll 8 or above, but you can try as many times as you want. Each attempt will take two minutes to complete.
23:23:21 - Kit: OK, 2D6: 10
23:23:41 - Methuslah: "That seems awfully risky, sir."
23:23:49 - Methuslah: Wow! Safeties disarmed.
23:23:58 - Kit: How well can the G-control be focused. Whole decks only, or can separate sections/rooms be accessed?
23:24:29 - Kit: (over Comm) Hello, we are ready for a littel coffe break here. Or are there any other plans?
23:24:34 - Methuslah: YOu will only be able to cover deck-by-deck.
23:24:49 - Methuslah: You can also reactivate the gravity lift shafts.
23:25:22 - Kraiger: Oh really private? You have a better idea for takin on a force almost twice our size?
23:25:23 - Kit: (comm) please, give, as precise as you can tell, data on where the greatest concentration of coffee guests is?
23:25:56 - Kraiger: (Kit, we've got aproximately 40 inbound Zho - I'm setting up an ambush, and a hit of G's at the right time would be just what we need!
23:26:07 - Kit: (stewardm are you still with us?)
23:26:09 - Methuslah: "Ah, sir - comm link - for you."
23:26:58 - Kit: OK, preparing to serve coffe to deck (one up from the storage bay) now
23:26:59 - Kraiger: (OOppsss, maybe we need to put this in code speach!!!) Say again, Four Zero Coffee guests inbound - am going to personally lead them to the cafe', will give the word when its time to serve
23:27:27 - Kraiger: (Am I picking up correctly what you guys were trying to achieve?)
23:27:41 - Kit: (crancing up G's on the deck to 8, then 10)
23:28:06 - Methuslah: (On the hanger deck, the one below you?)
23:29:00 - Kit: (Kraiger, we had a code, your character knows. Our plan was to cranc up the G's first one deck above from where you are where we located the greatest number of Zho. You have some sensors running and should give us a report on where else Zho are)
23:29:47 - Kit: (the one where the Zho were massing when I first activated the sensors. I think that must be two down from where we are now)
23:30:04 - Kraiger: (The hi G's will knock them out for a certain time? I like this better than my ambush plan, but I'll need to be ready to send marines in to mop up...)
23:31:22 - Kit: (comm) I can reactivate the gravity lifts, that should make mopping up easier. I hope you have lotsa handcuffs!)
23:32:20 - Kraiger: (Hopefully we have those "ziplock" things to disable them with?)
23:32:42 - Methuslah: The scanners tell the tale. On the deck, the zhodani crash to the floor. The attack on the cargo bay is over before it even begins. None of them had reached the shafts.
23:32:44 - Kit: (Steward seems to have gotten lost eh? I hope he secured the two zho and closed the door, otherwise I'll do that)
23:33:10 - Kraiger: (comm) OK, coffee guests are (give location of concentration on movement sensor), dishwashers standin by...
23:33:11 - Methuslah: (OK)
23:33:25 - Methuslah: (You have enough restraint equipment.)
23:34:38 - Kraiger: Sergeant, get your men moving! Get those Zho secured
23:34:43 - Methuslah: OK, do you mind if we call it a night here? It seems like a good breakpoint ,and it's getting late over here.
23:34:44 - Kit: (comm)OK, Coffe is getting cold now. Elavator (insert nearest to Kraiger) activated. Move quickly, I recon They'll take (insert right number) minutes before they get up again. Any other good location for a coffe break?
23:34:44 - StewartBailey: [I have to run soon]
23:35:01 - Methuslah: The sergeant respond, and his men ebgin to move otu into the corridor.
23:35:06 - Kit: (turning G's back to normal on the deck)
23:35:20 - Kit: (activating indicated elevator)
23:36:16 - Methuslah: OK. Good game everyone. Looks like you're on the verge of retaking the ship.
23:36:33 - Kraiger: OK. Hey, good plan guys! I like it....
23:36:56 - Kraiger: I looked at last weeks log, did you forget that I was away skiing?
23:36:58 - Kit: I told you, as soon as I get my coffe, everything turns out for the best!!
23:37:15 - StewartBailey: Until next week...
23:37:25 - Kit: Except for having to kill that guard.
23:37:32 - Methuslah: See you next week!
23:37:35 - Methuslah just logged off.
23:37:45 - StewartBailey: I've been around Kraiger too long.
