Imperial Fringe Online Game Chat Session Log 12.01.2003
20:33:57 - Methuslah: OK - Kit is not going to be with us tonight, so I suggest we get started. As I recall, last week just had just heard a series of slams into the hull, one of which was close to your location. Kit has volunteered to remain behind and fix the Sliver, while you two head down to the cargo bay with the wounded. Of course, you may wish to amend that plan....
20:34:54 - Kraiger: I'm still for the cargo bay - las rifle at the ready...
20:35:17 - Bailey: Let's go.
20:36:00 - Bailey: Hey, Kraiger, is that PGMP still working?
20:36:48 - Kraiger: Yeah, but its not my favourite choice for shipboard combat!
20:39:05 - Bailey: OK, let's get to that other cargo bay.
20:40:17 - Methuslah: Leaving the cargo bay, the corridor is in darkness. Emergency power seems to have failed. The elevator shaft access is a hundred meters down to your left.
20:42:11 - Bailey: Kraiger, do you have a light, or should we get one from the shuttle?
20:43:59 - Bailey: (If Kraiger is distracted and we need a light, back to the shuttle to get one and then onward.)
20:46:07 - Methuslah: The emergency flashlight lights up the corridor with an eerie green glow. You reach the lift shaft, drifting down the corridor. It is sealed tightly shut. The panel next to it is green, indicating a pressurized environment on the other side of the door.
20:46:51 - Bailey: (I'll push whatever buttons are required to call an elevator car.)
20:47:55 - Methuslah: The panel appears to be inoperative. No power running through it.
20:48:23 - Bailey: (I'll try to fix it if I can: 2D6: 2)
20:48:29 - Bailey: (Doh!)
20:49:35 - Methuslah: After taking off the panel, messing around with it and replacing it, you have six chips left over.
20:50:12 - Bailey: (I'll try it again, doing my best to have all of the components inplace this time: 2D6: 4)
20:50:21 - Bailey: (Doh! again)
20:50:39 - Kraiger: 0I hate when there are bits left over!
20:51:03 - Kraiger: (Meanwhile, I will still try to raise anyone on the crew)
20:51:28 - Kraiger: At least some of the ship is in pressure!
20:51:47 - Methuslah: You have an extra four chips left over. You can't raise anyone - jeavy jamming field on your radios, and internal communications seem to be out.
20:52:03 - Bailey: (One more time: 2D6: 8)
20:52:57 - Methuslah: You've put the chips back in this time. A spark lights up the panel, and the wiring quietly fails, but the doors grind open three inches.
20:53:57 - Bailey: (One more time: 2D6: 10)
20:54:42 - Methuslah: The panel appears to have had it, but the hatch is now slightly ajar. The power is drained from the system.
20:55:18 - Bailey: Kraiger, do you want to try an alternate route?
20:55:36 - Kraiger: Lets try to force it (find some kind of lever neareby)
20:56:14 - Methuslah: The emergency lockers have steel truncheons.
20:57:13 - Methuslah: You can both get them into the crack. To force it, you will both need to roll under your Strength on 2d6.
20:57:39 - Bailey: (OK: 2D6: 10)
20:58:58 - Methuslah: Kraiger?
21:00:09 - Bailey: (He's probably stuck under his car...)
21:00:17 - Methuslah: No dice anyway - you'll have to try again. I'll roll for Kraiger.
21:00:40 - Kraiger: 2d6
21:00:49 - Kraiger: 2D6: 7
21:00:57 - Bailey: (Since I was ststioned on the AHL, do I know a route that will avoid any systems needing power?)
21:01:03 - Kraiger: ( St 5 - yuck!)
21:01:38 - Methuslah: You might be able to go down the maintainance shafts, but its a long way and a tight fit in spacesuits.
21:02:29 - Bailey: (OK, let's try to force the doors again: 2D6: 12)
21:02:35 - Bailey: (Ouch!)
21:02:58 - Kraiger: (_now_ you get high rolls?
)
21:03:19 - Kraiger: (Any luck on the comm?)
21:04:23 - Methuslah: Still nothing. The jamming is still to intense on your radio. You can now see some lights reflecting on the wall, around the corner at the far end of the corridor.
21:05:31 - Bailey: (Let's try the door one more time: 2D6: 6)
21:06:16 - Methuslah: You made it - Kraiger - roll under 5.
21:07:42 - Kraiger: 2D6: 7
21:08:02 - Methuslah: D'oh!
21:08:10 - Methuslah: The lights behind you are getting brighter.
21:08:16 - Kraiger: Well, I don't know if they're friendly or not, but lets get back to the hanger for some cover...
21:08:40 - Kraiger: (Lights coming from the direction of the hanger, or other direction?)
21:09:21 - Methuslah: The direction of the hangar.
21:11:56 - Bailey: Let's see who it is.
21:13:55 - Methuslah: A group of five people in unfamiliar spacesuits come around the corridor, Their hemelt lights are reflecting on the far wall - they seem to be invesitageting a door on the far side, not the one containing the Sliver and the shuttle.
21:15:11 - Kraiger: Unfamiliar spacesuits??? That can't be good. ANywhere we can hide?
21:15:50 - Methuslah: There are a few closed hatches along the corridor.
21:15:55 - Bailey: How about getting into the maintenance shaft? That will lead us to where we want to get anyway.
21:16:34 - Kraiger: We've got injured with us - do you think we'll be able to get them down the shaft?
21:16:43 - Kraiger: If so, lets do it quick!
21:16:50 - Methuslah: The shaft entrance is in the floor, a simple hand release. But it is a narrow space.
21:17:31 - Bailey: I thought that the injured were back in the bay with Kit.
21:17:48 - Bailey: Or is my memory going...
21:19:02 - Methuslah: No - you were supposed to be getting them down to the medical center on the cargo bay.
21:19:10 - Kraiger: Pretty sure getting them to the cargo bay was the point of going...)
21:19:21 - Bailey: I guess it IS going.
21:20:06 - Bailey: I don't see much of a choice here. Either the elevator that's jummed or the shaft. Any other ideas, Kraiger?
21:22:24 - Kraiger: (Is Silvaa with us? And the others? Lets get the strongest to give a desperate heave on the door)
21:23:27 - Methuslah: Most of them are too badly wounded, or still winded. The medic is busily keeping the others going, monitoring their life functions - the pilot, who until now has done remarkably little, is standing about in the corridor.
21:23:57 - Bailey: (OK, the pilot and I will try the door one more time: 2D6: 5)
21:25:28 - Kraiger: (I'll keep on guard, las rifle at the ready, incase the others spot us)
21:25:38 - Methuslah: You've done it: 2D6: 9
21:26:03 - Methuslah: So has the pilot. The door slowly grinds open. The lift seems to now be in position, but the lights on the control panel are out.
21:26:04 - Bailey: OK, into the elevator. Let's get out of here.
21:28:47 - Kraiger: (Can we all fit?)
21:29:20 - Methuslah: Just.
21:29:32 - Bailey: (I'll try to get the panel going: 2D6: 7)
21:29:38 - Methuslah: The doors remain open, but the lift begins to descend.
21:31:32 - Methuslah: The panel does not resume function, but the lift continues to descend.
21:31:49 - Kraiger: Phew (still covering down the corridor)
21:33:14 - Methuslah: The lift has no sunk below the level of the corridor. It is speeding up.
21:36:51 - Methuslah: The lift is still speeding up. It moves past the next level rapidly.
21:39:50 - Methuslah: The lift continues to speed up. It is approaching your level.
21:42:50 - Kraiger: Now d'ya think you can stop this thing?
21:46:45 - Methuslah: Stewart?
21:48:42 - Kraiger: Did we lose him?
21:49:56 - Methuslah: I think we might have. We'll give him a minute, see if he gets back. Maybe he just crashed.
21:50:41 - Kraiger: OK...
21:56:01 - Methuslah: I picked up a 'new' (actually reprint of a long OOP) RPG from FGu - Psi-World.
21:56:46 - Methuslah: Pretty good actually. Wonder what's happened to our AWOL man?
21:56:46 - Kraiger: I don't think I've heard of it...
21:57:16 - Kraiger: He probably got a phone call... he was complaining about that - that'll teach him for answering the phone on Sundays!
21:57:20 - Kraiger: 10 Shall we gon on?
21:57:37 - Methuslah: It was printed back in '84. My local gaming sotre got a shipment in, reprints apparently, and I got it and all three supplements at the original price.
21:58:06 - Methuslah: I just got an email - he's having some computer problems. We'd better give him a few more minutes, see if he can sort it out.
22:00:36 - Kraiger: OK...
22:19:44 - Methuslah: Well, its beginning to look like Stewart won't be back tonight. We'll give him another few minutes, then wrap for the night.
22:21:34 - Kraiger: OK, I'm almost out of batteries anyway - lets call it a night.... (day for me!
)
22:22:37 - Methuslah: OK. Hope he fixes his problem in time for next week. Have a good evening! Bye!
