Imperial Fringe Online Game Chat Session Log 05.01.2003

20:54:12 - Methuslah: Last week.....
20:56:18 - Methuslah: After boarding the ship, you had a harrowing trip to the auxiliray bridge, where you learn that the Captain had been killed when the bridge was destroyed by a Zhodani fighter attack. You were sent down to the shuttle holding the wounded from the shuttle (including Commander Bailey) to the emergency Medical centre in the main Cargo hold. You make your way down there, and are puzzling over how to get in - the corridor being in vacuum and the hold being perssurized, and all but crucial combat systems out. Suddenly, a voice calls out over the intercom.
20:57:04 - StewartBailey: So I'm wounded? Conscious?
20:57:07 - Methuslah: "Attention! Attention! Zhodani shuttles inbound! BOARDING SHUTTLES INBOUND! All crew...."
20:57:52 - Kraiger: (ANd I believe Kit and I have 2 las-rifles between us...)
20:58:37 - Methuslah: You collapsed due to a pressure leak on the Silver Sliver. By now, you have regained consciousness, and are helping with the wounded in the cargo hold. You have no communication wit hthe rest of the ship - the corridor outside is in vacuum, and you haven't enough vacc suits to transfer. You have heard a bang on the door, then the annoucnement over the comm. Kit and Kraiger have one laser rifle each, and more equipment in the Sliver, in a nearby bay.
21:01:21 - StewartBailey: (do we still have the PGMP?)
21:02:23 - Methuslah: In the Sliver.
21:03:37 - StewartBailey: How many vacc suits are there total?
21:04:33 - Kit just entered this channel
21:04:48 - Kit: Hia there, made it.
21:06:00 - Methuslah: Hello!
21:06:23 - Kraiger: Hey Kit...
21:06:27 - Methuslah: There are six on board, and four suits.
21:07:37 - Kit: (I'll try the wristwatch comms we got on trane station fro our safari trip to see if I can catch Steward on them)
21:07:58 - Kraiger: (Can we find any spare vacc suits in lockers nearbye?)
21:09:04 - Kit: Well Kraiger, looks like you'll get your chance to see the enemy in the eye after all, with the Zhodani boarding and all.
21:09:25 - Methuslah: There are several lockers up and down the corridor, each containing two vacc suits.
21:09:55 - StewartBailey: Let's get them on.
21:10:24 - Methuslah: But no extra ones in the cargo bay.
21:11:16 - Kit: As long as we cannot establish communication with the guys inside, the fact that we have suits to speare will do no good.
21:12:00 - Kit: (I'll try to bang on the door again using morse code)people inside bay do you read me?
21:12:39 - StewartBailey: We can certainly go out and get a few more
21:13:49 - Kit: (Wristwatch comm)Beep Beep Steward, can you read me?
21:13:53 - StewartBailey: Are there too many people in the hold to temporarily break the seal to the corridor?
21:14:37 - Methuslah: If you break the seal, there is a danger that some may be sucked out the door. The escaping air will make passing anything into the bay very difficult.
21:15:24 - StewartBailey: How big is the hold?
21:16:19 - Methuslah: Sixty by Forty feet. Much of it is occupied by the shuttle.
21:17:07 - StewartBailey: Can we pack all of the people without vacc suits in the shuttle temporarily?
21:17:21 - Kit: Well Kraiger, looks like no one is responding to any of our communication attempts. Any ideas?
21:20:20 - Kit: Kraiger, I'll go to the sliver and try the on board comm. Maybe I can catch the comm of the other shuttle. You stay here. We stay in contact via our suit comms ok?
21:20:46 - Kit: (heading back to the silver sliver)
21:23:15 - Methuslah: The sliver is about eighty feet down the corridor. The door is still open, and the sliver seems to be intact. You board with no trouble. Are you repressurizing?
21:24:21 - Kit: Since life support is down inside the sliver, that wouldn't do much good, would it?
21:25:57 - Methuslah: No. Probably not.
21:26:24 - Kit: (I plug into the sliver's comm and try to 1. Cathc the other shuttle, and 2. Listen in on the communication happening outside, if i can catch any that is.
21:27:49 - Kit: (suit comm to Kraiger) I am aboard the Sliver now. checking comm.
21:28:23 - StewartBailey: Can we do a temporary patch to the pressure leak on the SS?
21:28:27 - Methuslah: There seems to be some sort of heavy jamming in place, but you can get an automatic signal from the shuttle.
21:28:48 - Kraiger just entered this channel
21:29:06 - Methuslah: You can if you can find the source of the leak. It was too small for the fault locator to find.
21:29:24 - Kit: (to shuttle) Thie is Silver Sliver, please reply, This is silver sliver, do you read me?
21:29:25 - Methuslah: They have equipment in stores here that should help with that.
21:30:15 - StewartBailey: If it's a small leak, it should also be slow, so we should be able to hold out in the SS while someone goes for the extra vacc suits.
21:30:45 - Kit: (Steward, you are not on the SS, you are on another shuttle)
21:30:56 - Kraiger: (I will tap out some morse code on the door)
21:31:40 - Methuslah: God, yes - I should have explained. The Sliver was depressurizing, so another ship was sent off to rescue the crew. Kit and Kragier refused to leave, and took the Sliver in seperately.
21:31:47 - Methuslah: My fault.
21:31:56 - StewartBailey: Ah.
21:32:14 - Kit: (thats why we got separated in the first place!)
21:32:27 - StewartBailey: Aha.
21:32:57 - Kit: (there IS a back loch of the last sessions you know! )
21:33:37 - StewartBailey: (It must be hallucinations from the depressurizarion)
21:34:35 - StewartBailey: (In that case, I get to the nearest comm system and try to raise Kraiger or Kit) "Kit, Kraiger, do you copy?"
21:35:22 - Kit: (I'll try to catch the other shuttle for a few minutes. If I get no reply I'll see what I can do about fixing the Sliver. There really aint much else to do as long as we cannot establish communication to the others)
21:36:17 - Methuslah: You can hear each other. The jamming is bad, though, and it is difficult to make out what you are saying.
21:37:02 - Kit: (great!) Steward, this is Kit, I can hear you.
21:37:35 - Kit: Whats the status with you people and the prisoner? Do you have vacc suits?
21:37:56 - StewartBailey: (Can I use internal ship's comms to talk to them? Probably fiber optics and unjammed.)
21:38:07 - Kraiger: Stewart! We're outside the bay, but in vaccum and no grav - can you seal off the ship and depressurise so we can bring in some suits for you?
21:38:18 - Kit: (Trouble is, power is down on the ship!)
21:39:02 - Methuslah: You should be able to, but there seems to be a power loss to your section. The system is intact, just no power.
21:39:55 - Kit: Steward. I would like to move the Sliver to a Bay that has refueling facilities. Has yours and is there enough room?
21:40:12 - StewartBailey: (to K&K) "Let me see what I can do here" (any backup power source handy? if not, can I try to repair the damage enough to do the necessary)
21:41:05 - Methuslah: You should be able to run some power into the deck's grid from the shuttle, but it will be a heavy drain on the shuttle reactor and will take some time to install.
21:41:50 - StewartBailey: (I'll get to it. Do you need a 2d6 roll?)
21:42:16 - StewartBailey: (to K&K) "I'm working on it. It may take a while. I'll keep you posted."
21:42:24 - Kraiger: (comm) Stewart, if you can get inside the ship and depressurise the hanger, Kit can bring the silver around...
21:42:38 - Kit: (Are our two beay directly next to each other or is there another one in between?
21:43:11 - Kit: (bays was what I wanted to say)
21:43:12 - Methuslah: Yes, for your Engineering skill. That should be a 6 or above.
21:43:47 - StewartBailey: (how many others here with me?) (for the repairs, 2D6: 3)
21:43:49 - Methuslah: There is one bay inbetween.
21:44:00 - StewartBailey: (ducking as the sparks fly)
21:44:48 - Kit: Kraiger, can you check the bay in between us wether it has refueling facilities and is operative and free?
21:44:49 - StewartBailey: (comm) "This may take longer that I had hoped..."
21:45:33 - Methuslah: A series of red lights flash on your console. Apparently you created a feedback loop and blew out several ship's systems. The computer appears to be down, as is the navigation suite. You can't tell how bad the damage to the reactor itself might be without a more detailed inspectuion( Requiring another 6 or above Engineering roll).
21:46:00 - Kit: Steward, I can bring several more suits with the sliver, if you can make room for it in your bay
21:46:19 - StewartBailey: (crossing fingers on both hands) 2D6: 7
21:46:40 - Kraiger: (I'll check the next bay)
21:48:31 - Methuslah: The reactor seems operational, not sustaining any major damage.
21:48:44 - Methuslah: The bay is sealed. Indications are that the bay is open to space.
21:50:27 - Kraiger: (gotta duck off for 1/2 an hour now - back in a bit)
21:51:08 - Kit: Steward. Is there room in your bay for the sliver?
21:52:07 - StewartBailey: (?)
21:52:17 - Kit: (I'll start packing spare suits from the lockers into the sliver)
21:52:29 - Methuslah: OK - see you later.
21:52:52 - Methuslah: It'll be a bit of a squeeze, but with some good piloting there should be no trouble.
21:53:49 - StewartBailey: (Can I try the repairs again, or are things too far gone? If so: 2D6: 6)
21:56:09 - Methuslah: The panels begin to dimly glow, both in the corridor and the cargo bay.
21:57:17 - Kit: Steward, can you pack everyone into the other shuttle, depressurize the bay and open the outside door for the Sliver? I Think we'll all be better off if we are together and I have spare suits for everyone!
21:57:49 - StewartBailey: (It was only a slow leak, right?)
21:58:46 - Methuslah: Yes - but the sliver is currently depressurized.
21:58:52 - Kit: (on the sliver? Yes. And I'm sure I can fix it, but this dammned bay I'm in is stripped of all useful material)
21:59:38 - StewartBailey: (can everyone fit into the shuttle here?)
21:59:58 - Kit: (they did on their way in)
22:00:16 - StewartBailey: (aren't there medical personnel here also?)
22:00:53 - Kit: (I'm pretty sure you can squeeze in a few extras for a few minutes)
22:01:10 - Kit: How many suits do you need?
22:01:31 - StewartBailey: (counting people, ...)
22:03:20 - Methuslah: Two.
22:04:04 - Kit: (the wounded commander, Silvaa, Steward, the Kid, the shuttle pilot... two?)
22:04:30 - Kit: (not to forget our prisoner?)
22:04:36 - StewartBailey: (counting again...)
22:04:57 - Kraiger just entered this channel
22:05:19 - Methuslah just entered this channel
22:05:30 - Kraiger just entered this channel
22:05:56 - Methuslah just entered this channel
22:06:01 - Methuslah just entered this channel
22:06:18 - Kit: (Notice Steward? They are stalling )
22:06:28 - Methuslah: The Commisioner, Silvaa, Stewart, the Kit, the Pilot, and the Medic.
22:06:51 - Methuslah: (Sorry about that btw - lost my connection for a second.)
22:07:08 - Kraiger: (I will try to contact ships security - see if I can't trade in this vacc suit on some combat armour!)
22:07:09 - Kit: (What happened to the wounded commander?)
22:08:17 - Methuslah: Make that three.
22:08:58 - Kit: OK, I should have enough suits for everyone by now. Can you make everything ready for my little trip over to you?
22:09:46 - Kit: (sealing this bay, preparing to open door to space, using hand crank if necessary)
22:10:17 - StewartBailey: (Let's do it. We all pack into the shuttle while I operate the bay doors)
22:10:23 - Methuslah: The bay is prepared. You are ready for takeoff.
22:10:54 - Kit: OK ready for a little jaunt over to you Steward.
22:10:55 - Methuslah: You all get back on board. Ready to open bay doors.
22:11:56 - Kit: OK, Sliver, ready for a little hop? (leaving bay, sneaking over to other bay, entering... assuming nothing goes wrong)
22:12:34 - Kit: In case you need a pilot roll 2D6: 11
22:12:40 - Methuslah: You will need two pilot rolls, at 5 or above - one for the tight maneuver, one to dock in the confined space.
22:12:54 - Kit: (i seem to have an abbo on that result )
22:13:28 - Kit: OK the second roll: 2D6: 5: 7
22:13:38 - Kit: ???
22:13:49 - Kit: Queer result?
22:14:14 - Kit: Lets check that again 2D6: 9
22:14:48 - Kraiger: (Any luck with security)
22:14:52 - Kit: (must check dice roller again, no idea where that one came from)
22:15:06 - Methuslah: Anyway - you managed it. A few flashes and explosions outside indicate that a furious battle is still being fought. As you pass across, your sensor suite picks up ten objects, slowloy heading towards the ship, two of them to come in close to your position.
22:15:08 - Kraiger: Kit, you see any sign of Zho boarding shuttles out there?
22:15:38 - Kraiger: (Is it safe to enter the bay when a docking maneuver is in progress?)
22:15:49 - Kit: Jup, seems like some are heading right close to where we are. We're about to get company!
22:16:40 - Methuslah: I probably woundn't risk it if I were you.
22:16:57 - Kit: (On the sensors: Any indication of those two other ships that the wasp mentioned?)
22:17:57 - StewartBailey: (my chat window just went blank)
22:18:20 - Kraiger: (Did we lose some of the history there?)
22:18:21 - Kit: mine too, seems we lost part of our file
22:18:46 - Kit: (probably just something corrupted the chat file)
22:19:06 - Kit: )Lets just go on, I think we remember what happened.)
22:19:20 - Kit: (Meth any sign on those other two ships?)
22:19:30 - StewartBailey: ("something?")
22:19:50 - Methuslah: (Did you just have that problem - i lost the last couple of dozen lines until I refreshed.)
22:20:01 - Methuslah: Incoming in about ten minutes.
22:21:35 - Kit: (data corruption sometimes happens on the net. The logfile is fine though, I just checked it, so well be able to read up on what happened )
22:22:09 - Kraiger: (I'll keep looking for security/armour, and as soon as Kit is docked, I'll enter the bay)
22:23:23 - Kit: (meth, those ten minutes referring to the boarding ships or the other two imperial carriers that Wasp mentioned?)
22:24:55 - Methuslah: The boarding ships. No infor on how long the destroyers will be.
22:25:04 - Kit: (as soon as I'm docked, I'll hand out the suits I brought and then proceed to refuel the Sliver)
22:25:27 - Kit: Two Boarding ships coming in near here in ten minutes or less.
22:25:51 - Kit: Kraiger, I'm docked, come in before we repressurize the bay.
22:26:28 - Kraiger: (Into the bay) Do we need to repressuirse the whole bay? The shuttle has an airlock, right?
22:27:05 - Kit: We don't necessarily have to repressurize the bay. Get the suits to the people in the shuttle.
22:27:27 - Kit: I'll see to getting the sliver refueled, and fixing the leak if possible.
22:29:20 - Methuslah: You've managed to sneak in with just enough room to spare. You should have not trouble refuelling from this bay, now that there is power avaliable.
22:30:21 - Kit: (OK, I'll refuel and then check the damage on the sliver)
22:31:13 - Kraiger: (I'll bundle the extra suits into the airlock of the shuttle)
22:31:30 - Kraiger: (Did I have any luck contacting security?)
22:31:43 - Methuslah: The refuelling process will take about ten minutes - its a very advanced system, very quick. The repair cabinets in this bay are fully stocked, and you find a leak detector in full function.
22:32:14 - Methuslah: (No luck contacting security. The power you have restored is confined to a small area. The extra suits are in the airlcok.
22:32:29 - Kit: (good, proceeding with repairs in order of urgency)
22:33:21 - Kit: 8I will also stuff some extra material that I consider useful from the repair lockers into the sliver)
22:34:19 - Kraiger: (Kraiger is on high alert - moving suits, but also keeping las rifle at hand)
22:34:47 - StewartBailey just entered this channel
22:35:04 - StewartBailey: (back again - we just lost power in my house!)
22:37:13 - Kit: (I'll also replenish air supply for the sliver, if possible)
22:37:25 - Methuslah: (Oh dear - everything OK?)
22:37:30 - Kit: (once that leak is fixed, we may need it)
22:38:07 - Methuslah: (OK - you can fill up the repair cabinets on the Sliver.) YOu should be finished with the refuelling about the same time as the ships dock.
22:38:14 - StewartBailey: (so far)
22:39:20 - Kit: Kraiger, Steward. The sliver will be refueled when the Zho are here. I don't know about the leck, I may be able to fix it while I refuel (Meth?). What then?
22:40:35 - Kit: I somehow believe that we don't have much chance staying on this ship. We may be better off, trying to reach either one of the other imperial destroyers the Wasp mentioned, or trying to reach the minder and the xboat out-system? What do you think?
22:40:54 - Kraiger: The Captain wanted us to get to the cargo bay on deck seven
22:41:13 - StewartBailey: Did he say why?
22:41:19 - Kit: Yes, and what good can we do there?
22:41:28 - Kraiger: I think flying an unarmed shuttle out into a battle is madness!
22:41:52 - Kraiger: (to stewart) I told him we have the commisar on board - may be a valuable barganing chip
22:41:52 - Kit: There are emergency medical facilites there, which may be good for the commander, assuming the zho don't win. But what about us?
22:42:22 - Kit: The have not reacted to any of our attempts at bargaining, what makes you think they will now?
22:42:47 - Kraiger: Stewart, you're the expert on space battles - what do you think? I'd rather just get somewhere where I can see the enemy coming...
22:43:11 - Kit: And I intend to fly the shuttle through the battle and away as soon as possible. This baby is faster than any of the fighters out there, and I've flewn through the battle successfully before!
22:44:05 - StewartBailey: I think that the Captain probably had a good reason for sending us to the deck 7 cargo bay. Maybe we should check it out. (can we reach the cargo bay on any comm system?)
22:44:28 - Methuslah: (The leak detector should have traced the leak within a few minutes, and applying a patch takes seconds. You will have it ready. The comm system seems to be inoperative except for your immediate vicinity.
22:44:31 - Kraiger: Yes Kit, but we need somewhere to fly _to_!
22:45:20 - Kit: Either one of the other Warships (if they show up) or the x-boat minder.
22:45:45 - Kit: Or we can hide in the belt. The Kid mentioned some smugglers.
22:46:30 - StewartBailey: They can easily track us as we fly into the belt, and I doubt that we could hide there.
22:47:05 - Kit: Besides, with the lifts down, crawling around inside this ship is not something that I enjoy doing.
22:47:30 - Kit: They may be kept busy by this battle.
22:47:58 - Kit: What would you do when staying here? I ´want to consider all options.
22:48:47 - StewartBailey: Maybe we can organize a defense against the boarders. It seems that the AHL is an overwhelming force if she's fully operational.
22:49:31 - Kraiger: I think that unless we have a clear idea of where to run to, we would be better off staying here...
22:49:39 - Kit: The people aboard this ship consider us civilians, and your old friend the captian went down with the command deck.
22:50:44 - Kraiger: Oh yeah Stewart, the ship is being run by a commander Vespura - know him?
22:51:44 - StewartBailey: Vespura? Why does that sound familliar?
22:52:01 - Methuslah: (You remember the Wasp. He used to be a second officer - transferred right out of the Regina staff. No combat experience.)
22:52:33 - Methuslah: (You never liked him - always looked down on people who did 'dirty work', that didn't only involve paper.)
22:52:57 - Kit: (he's from Regina? And he dares call me a civilian?)
22:53:06 - StewartBailey: We can probably do the most good if we can coordinate with Vespura. He might be able to use our help now. Remember, it's not just us. If the Zho win this battle, it's bad for the Navy and the Imperium.
22:53:30 - Kit: Is he a noble?
22:53:52 - Methuslah: No. You've never heard of him until you met him on this ship.
22:54:01 - StewartBailey: (How far to the probable location of Vespura now?)
22:54:44 - Methuslah: Two decks up and all the way forward. If the lifts were working, it'd take you about ten minutes. It could take you half an hour with then inoperative.
22:55:24 - Kraiger: (How about distance to the cargo bay where he told us to go?)
22:55:30 - Kit: We have to consider the wounded and out prisoner.
22:56:05 - Kit: Whatever we do, I would like to keep the Sliver ready for takeoff, just in case.
22:56:29 - StewartBailey: If we don't win this battle, the wounded and prisoner will be the least of our worries.
22:57:32 - Methuslah: A deck down, right down. Take you about ten minutes - but you'll have to climb down the lift shafts.
22:57:33 - Kit: Yes, but if the wounded die now for lack of care, our winning the battle will do them no good.
22:58:33 - Kit: And the Commander is in bad need of medical aid, or at least a cold berth to stabilize him.
22:58:36 - Kraiger: (Is the gravty back, or are we still zero-G
22:58:40 - StewartBailey: Kit, why don't you take care of the wounded while Kraiger checks out the other bay and I try to find Vespura?
22:59:09 - Kit: What other bay?
22:59:28 - Methuslah: STill Zero-G.
22:59:37 - StewartBailey: Where the Captain told us to go. Deck 7 cargo bay.
23:00:06 - Kit: (there was a medic around here somewhere, I'll adress him) Sir, do you have any information on the medical facilities on the bay x?
23:00:24 - Kit: Cargo bay Deck 7
23:01:15 - Methuslah: "Huh? That's just the cargo section. We keep supplies down there in case something happens in the Medical Bay."
23:01:30 - Kraiger: I think we should all go - if the ship is about to be boarded, we should stick together...
23:01:36 - Kit: So is there stuff enough to take care of the commander?
23:01:53 - Kraiger: What? WHy did the Commander want us to go there?
23:02:12 - Kit: I think it's because of the medical supplies!
23:02:24 - Methuslah: "We keep a lot of emergency stuff down there - in fact we updated most of the equipment during the refit - one of the things we did have time for."
23:02:33 - StewartBailey: On the other hand, I may be able to kick some butts on the bridge and get this shhip functioning again. That may be our best bet in the long run.
23:02:45 - Kit: (to medic) Do you have any cold berths aboard, besides on the medical station?
23:03:42 - Kit: In that case I think the best bet for the commander would be tha cargo bay. I'll take him there if you decide to stay on the ship and help the wasp.
23:04:01 - StewartBailey: [I have to run here in a few minutes.]
23:04:57 - Kit: Silvaa, can you handle a laser rifle?
23:05:19 - Kraiger: OK, lets move everyone to the cargo bay... hopefully they have comm with the bridge from there...
23:05:43 - Methuslah: "Troop units on Deck Nine. Plan is to have five hundred for deployments. Only got fifty installed before we had to leave.
23:06:02 - Kit: (can I prepare the sliver so that it seems inoperable to a casual inspection but is actually ready for immediate takeoff?
23:06:11 - Methuslah: You can feel the deck shake beneath your feet again, and lose contact with the floor.
23:07:05 - StewartBailey: Fair enough, let's head for the deck 7 cargo bay.
23:07:28 - Methuslah: (Certainly. Make an Engneering roll ( 4 or more) ).
23:07:46 - Kit: 2D6: 2
23:07:54 - Kit: ugh.
23:08:08 - Kit: (oh well, my luck had to run out sometimes)
23:08:32 - Methuslah: You appear to have accidentally crashed the mainframe while you were rigging the systems. It'll take twenty minutes to do a full reboot, and test the programs.
23:08:40 - Kraiger: (Is the trooper that showed us the way here still around?)
23:09:11 - Methuslah: You haven't seen him since the boarding alert sounded.
23:09:17 - StewartBailey: That's too long to wait here. We could be in the cargo bay by then.
23:09:19 - Kit: Well, if we want to be able to get off, I better stay here and fix this mess. What do you say?
23:09:47 - Kit: Head to the bay without me. I can handle myself. I hope.
23:10:06 - Methuslah: Three more shocks send you spinning up. A blast of static comes bursting out of the intercom, which then returns to slient. You then hear an ominous series of clangs, coming from all directions, followed by a high-pitched whine coming from down the corridor.
23:10:11 - Kit: [besides, I may not be able to make it, or at least not make it in time next week]
23:10:37 - StewartBailey: [I have to go now.]
23:11:01 - Kit: Looks like our guests are here. You run fast, I'll hide here. (gathering up some rubble, tools or somewhat to hide under/behind)
23:11:21 - Methuslah: (OK - let's leave it there. Good game, everyone.)
23:11:49 - Kraiger: (I still dodn't get to shoot anyone - yet! )
23:11:50 - StewartBailey just logged off.
23:12:07 - Kit: I'm sure you will next time
23:12:12 - Kit: oh Meth...
23:12:37 - Methuslah: Good work on the dice roller, by the way.
23:13:01 - Kit: Just in case I won't be able to come next time. I'll hide by playing dead (use some creative color to make a balievable wound) and as soon as the coast is clear, proceed with fixing the sliver. OK?
23:13:14 - Methuslah: OK.
23:13:39 - Kit: yup, now if I only knew where thet weird result some time ago came from.
