Imperial Fringe Online Game Chat Session Log 22.12.2002
21:22:18 - Methuslah: Certainly - let's get started!
21:22:25 - Kit: Dunno. Depends on wether the GM believes we two are up to the tasks ahead.
21:22:43 - Kit: Okay, better late than never (just don't let me roll any dice today)
21:22:57 - Kraiger: Space combat? I'm not planning on leaning out tha hatch taking pot-shots again!
21:23:26 - Kit: Not? I thought you wanted to fire that big gun!
21:23:45 - Methuslah: You should manage. Probably. I think. Where did I put those pre-gen characters......
21:24:12 - Kit: Talk about an encouraging GM!
21:25:50 - Methuslah: Evil cackle.
21:27:12 - Kit: Ouw.. did I mention I have an urgend engagement offline...
21:29:48 - Methuslah: A couple of hours have passed fairly quietly. Stewart has gone to the rear of the ship to lie down, complaining of a headache, and his snores echo through the cabin. The Zhodani fighters have contiued to persue, adn the scanner screen continues to show the Zhodani carriers, the Imperial squadron, and yourselves drawing toward the same point of space.
21:30:06 - Methuslah: "Well, docking in about twenty-five minutes.", says the Kid.
21:31:02 - Kit: Good, I hope they have medical standing ready for the commander... and a nice comfortable cell for the commissioner.
21:31:14 - Kraiger: How far ahead of the fighters are we going to arrive, Kid?
21:31:26 - Kit: And some hot coffe for me, but somehoe I doubt the latter.
21:32:53 - Methuslah: "Easily five, six minutes. I think - depends whether they burn at full accleration or not. Could be tricky. Still, dude, we have got those Imperial fighters covering us on our way in."
21:34:34 - Kit: How long til the Zhodani carriers get there?
21:36:17 - Methuslah: "Reckon maybe thirty minutes later. The ones from Trane, couple of hours."
21:36:54 - Kit: That should leave us some time for a cup of coffee!
21:40:57 - Methuslah: You hear another loud snore from the rear.
21:41:27 - Kit: If thats Silvaa, I wake him up
21:42:02 - Kit: Can't have some Zho spying on us through him. Th commissioner still koed?
21:43:17 - Methuslah: Silvaa is wide awake, looking out of the side viewport. The Commissioner is still koed.
21:43:43 - Kit: So maybe we should wake Steward, or he'll be missing all the fun.
21:45:03 - Methuslah: You nudge him, but he doesn't seem to wake.
21:45:31 - Kit: Nudge him harder: Hey Steward, wake up.
21:46:42 - Methuslah: You still can't wake him.
21:47:17 - Kit: Whats wrong with him. I better run a medical check. is he sick or somesuch?
21:48:48 - Methuslah: A check reveals that his brain activity is abnormally low.
21:50:01 - Kit: Holy Shit. Whats wrong with him, some kinda stroke? hey Silvaa, can your Zhodani people somehow lower someone's brain activity?
21:50:43 - Kit: Take a small bloodsample and run it through my medscanner. Any chemical contaminants?
21:50:47 - Methuslah: "I have not (yawn) heard of such - but if control is possible, suppression (yawn) might be."
21:50:58 - Methuslah: "Hey dude - I'm feeling kinda sleepy as well."
21:51:30 - Kit: Silvaa, you seem quite tired as well? Are you ok? (check if the commissioner is REALLY Ko or just faking it.
21:51:55 - Kit: Kraiger, check the oxygen level!
21:52:01 - Kraiger: Oh-oh - I'll run an atmosphere check...
21:53:02 - Methuslah: His brain activity is low, as well. You are feeling sleepy, too.
21:53:36 - Methuslah: Atmosphere pressure is at 0.5 atmospheres.
21:53:57 - Kit: Damned, something must be affecting the whole ship.
21:54:37 - Kit: No wonder. There must be a malfunction somewhere. Help me look for it Kraiger! (proceeding to check for lecks or malfunction of life support)
21:54:36 - Kraiger: I will vacc-suit up - then check for leaks...
21:55:10 - Kit: (how many vacc suits aboard?)
21:55:43 - Methuslah: You cannot find any leaks - but one of the portside hull sensors has failed. There are four vacc-suits aboard.
21:56:40 - Kit: (Try to adjust life support to compensate.) Kid, me, Kraiger and Silvaa all suit up!
21:57:39 - Kit: I'll try to improvise some kind of oxygen mast to give enough breathable air to the commander and commissioner.
21:57:55 - Kit: Using my suit's air supply.
21:58:18 - Kit: Kraiger, Radio our newest problems ahead!
21:58:47 - Kit: Everybody try to breath very deeply to compensate!
21:59:40 - Methuslah: A warning light pops up on the engineering console - atmospheric alarm.
21:59:59 - Methuslah: The Kid has slumped in his couch, and Silvaa seems to be having trouble staying awake.
22:00:07 - Kraiger: (comm to Imperial fleet) Kraiger here - we have aq potential life support failure on our hands...
22:00:46 - Kit: Dammned. You're late!! (shake fist at sign) (Help kid into helmet of suit so he gets oxygen) Stay awake kid!
22:01:56 - Methuslah: "Specify problem. We have shuttle and can make RV if required."
22:02:24 - Methuslah: The Kid is now asleep. The navigation board is giving off a siren.
22:02:51 - Kit: Dammned. I'm taking over, course correction if necessary
22:03:11 - Kit: Kraiger, we need that Pickup FAST!
22:03:56 - Kraiger: (Readng alarm signals) - we have red lights on ...<> - pilot is down, request RV
22:04:08 - Methuslah: "Shuttle Madras launching now. Estimate RV in twelve minutes."
22:04:46 - Kit: So what's the problem with the navigation board?
22:05:27 - Methuslah: Additional contacts are now showing on the scanner. Ten more dots moving forward from the Zhodani carriers, on intersect courses.
22:06:22 - Kraiger: (I am _definately _ vacc-suited) - so, whos going to get here first...
22:06:40 - Kit: Dammned. Even more company. (to Imperial fleet) Zhodani Fighters launched. Better not send your shuttle out alone!
22:07:15 - Kit: If I've not done so alreday, I will close and seal my suit. Kraiger, try to get the Kid in a suit, then Silvaa!
22:07:25 - Methuslah: "We have four fighters in the black now, Sliver. Three squadrons on the pad and ready to launch."
22:09:01 - Kit: Kraiger, If you can, try to supply all our passenders with some oxigen from the suits. (Taking over all ship controls) As long as the kid is taking a nep, I'll have to take the wheel here!
22:10:23 - Kit: (to Imperial fleet) We are losing atmosphere fast. Short three vacc suits. Prepare for remergence resiccuciation!
22:11:08 - Kraiger: I'll do my best to keep everyone in oxygen...
22:12:20 - Methuslah: "Our Med Bays are ready to recieve casualties. We'll do what we can."
22:13:05 - Kit: (comm) While you're at it, prepare for (insert medical analysis of the commanders Injuries)
22:13:34 - Methuslah: "Got it. Our doctor will be ready - but the battle's going to leave him busy."
22:13:56 - Kit: I'll lend him a hand when I get there.
22:17:51 - Kit just entered this channel
22:18:24 - Kit: (Funny that. I wasn't away?)
22:20:09 - Kit: testing
22:21:01 - Kit just entered this channel
22:21:24 - Kit: Hey guys, you still around?
22:22:37 - Methuslah just entered this channel
22:22:43 - Methuslah: I'm back!
22:22:53 - Kraiger: I'm here...
22:23:06 - Kit: Oh good, I though I had lost you!
22:24:22 - Methuslah: The next fwe minutes pass tensely as the pressure drops still further - down to 0.4. Which of you are wearing suits?
22:24:47 - Kit: Me, Kraiger and whoever he managed to suit up.
22:25:29 - Kit: Kraiger, if possible, focus on the Commander with your oxygen, He's weak from his injuries already!
22:27:51 - Kit: Dammned. Do we have something that smokes? Kraiger check the cabin with it. Maybe a well placed chewing gum can buy us another few minutes!
22:29:37 - Kit: Kariger, I got another Idea. get everyone without a suit into the hatch, and seal it under pressure. Maybe it is still ok.
22:31:20 - Kit: Airlock , thats the word I was looking for, not Hatch
22:34:25 - Kit: Kraiger?
22:34:26 - Methuslah: Silvaa begins to stumble across to the airlock, pulling himself along the floor.
22:35:42 - Kit: If I can leave the controls to the autopilot for a few minutes, I will help to get everybody into the airlock, then seal it up, pressurize it as best as possible, then resume my pilots seat.
22:35:54 - Kit: (now what happened to Kraiger?)
22:37:24 - Kit: (comm to imperials) We have our unsuited personell inside the airlock. Do not open it from outside in an unpressurized environment!
22:39:26 - Methuslah: "We will inform the shuttle. Be advised Zhodani fighters incoming, ETA fifteen minutes. Could get a little hairy out there."
22:40:07 - Kit: As if it wasn't hairy yet. Ok I read you! I am ready for anything, as always.
22:40:20 - Kit: (performing a quick system check)
22:42:34 - Kit: (Are there still a few loads to my improvised waste dump? It may yet see some use)
22:43:30 - Methuslah: Waste dump is reloaded and ready to fire.
22:43:50 - Kit: OK (now where is Kraiger?)
22:48:38 - Methuslah: Good question.
22:49:48 - Kit: I really could use another pair of hands in this shuttle!
22:52:03 - Kit: (com to airlock) Hey you guis inside. You should be reviving somewhat if the pressure is higher. Silvaa, can you take care of the injured commander? We may have some rough maneuvers coming up and since none of you is strapped down safely, someone must take care of him.
22:53:07 - Methuslah: "I will care for him as best I can."
22:53:34 - Kit: Try to (insert description of most important medical procedures for his injuries)
22:54:18 - Kraiger: Sorry guys - duty called there... back now.
22:54:25 - Methuslah: "Will do."
22:54:55 - Kit: Great. Kraiger, you really couldn't pick a worse time to take a piss!!
22:55:18 - Kraiger: :>
22:56:11 - Kit: Our unsuited passengers are stacked (quite literally) inside the airlock. It still seems to be sealed. And we are heading for another rough ride.
22:56:42 - Kraiger: Anything I can do?
22:57:08 - Kit: keep an eye on the scanners.
22:57:49 - Methuslah: Contact with shuttle in eight minutes. Zhodani fighters coming in in twelve.
22:58:30 - Kit: Now keep on going, Silver Sliver. This will get rough.
22:59:05 - Kit: Say Kraiger, besides shooting big guns, what are your skills?
22:59:27 - Kit: Anything useful on board right now?
22:59:31 - Methuslah: You can now pick up the shuttle visually. The pilot is certainly playing it safe, keeping acceleration at minimum.
23:00:31 - Kit: Dammned Coward. (Com) Hello Shuttle. We could use a bit more of an express rescue here, what's keeping you?
23:01:38 - Kraiger: Ships-boat 0 is about as useful as I guess on a spaceship...
23:01:43 - Methuslah: "Hello Sliver. More haste, less speed, you know. Got to be careful."
23:02:40 - Kit: You always play that way? I'm sure you lead an exciting life!
23:03:06 - Kit: Or are you just covering up lousy piloting skills?
23:05:11 - Kraiger: Ah, Kit the diplomat! Don't forget this guy may well save our bacon!
23:05:56 - Kit: I've got no time to be diplomatic nor, or patient with a coward that's not taking his job seriously enough!
23:06:01 - Methuslah: 2"My skills are fine, thank you. I have flown shuttles for twenty years and never had an accident."
23:07:01 - Kit: I believe thet without a doubt. If ya aint taking any risks, ya won't have an accident, but you may well not manage to save some lives that are at the stake here!!
23:08:29 - Kit: (to Kraiger) Somehow I would prefer a younger, more recless pilot here!
23:08:49 - Methuslah: "Relax. Stop being so jumpy."
23:10:18 - Kit: Jumpy! Me? (laughs) I assume had you gone through what I've gone through in the last 24 hours, you'd be wetting your pants and crying for momma! Now get your fuckin ass over ehre a bit faster! The sooner you do that, the sooner I can relax.
23:12:03 - Methuslah: "Last I checked, you do not rank me, civilian."
23:12:49 - Kraiger: Hey Kit, ease up here - we don't want this guy to turn around and ditch us!
23:13:50 - Kit: You're right, I'm not part of the Navy. I'm a scout in reserve. But I'm pretty sure Your commander would appreciate it, if you manage to save us in time... commoner!
23:14:18 - Kit: (to Kraiger) You think you can talk to this guy, then do! (hand over comm)
23:15:32 - Kit: Hes more your line of duty anyways (returns concentration to ship)
23:15:54 - Kraiger: (Comm to shuttle) Sorry 'bout that - we're under a lot of stress out here - a bunch of people have tried to fry us in the last 12 hours, and we're getting a little itchy...
23:17:26 - Methuslah: "No need to lose your cool. If you were in the military, you would know that."
23:18:36 - Kit: (mumbling)Hrmmpf. Some smatrass telling me that!
23:19:09 - Kraiger: Right, agreed... Whats you're ETA?
23:19:19 - Kit: (to Kraiger) Kraiger, You better think of something fast to keep me from collaring that idiot as soon as I get the chance!
23:19:34 - Methuslah: "Seven minutes."
23:20:55 - Kraiger: (to Kit) As long as we're off this tub and heading back to the fleet, you can do what you like!
23:21:14 - Kraiger: (Comm to shuttle) and the fighters ETA ?
23:22:19 - Methuslah: "Eleven."
23:22:41 - Kit: Kraiger, I have no intention of abandoning this "tub" as you call this great ship. You take the passenders and injured off adn I will fly this baby to the fleet. It has saved our arses here and deserves not to be abandoned in space!
23:23:04 - Kit: And except for Life support, it's still in good shape. It will get to the carrier!
23:23:56 - Kraiger: Its a _ship_ Kit - metal, plastic... thats all!
23:24:26 - Kit: It is the Silver Sliver, and without it, we'd all be dead now.
23:24:55 - Kit: If you don't abandon your ship, it won't abandon you!
23:25:47 - Kraiger: OK, whatever. (comm to shuttle) Have your people standing buy for invalid transfer - we won't have much time...
23:26:36 - Methuslah: "We'll be ready. We always are."
23:27:49 - Kraiger: (I'll make my way to the airlock and prepare for the transfer)
23:27:57 - Kit: (system check on the Sliver. Are the engines up to flying to the carrier?)
23:29:37 - Methuslah: No trouble with the engines or anything else. The air is down to 0.3 atm.
23:30:14 - Kit: Well as long as I have my suit, I should be fine. Is there enough oxygen in the suits tank?
23:31:19 - Kit: If not, I'll transfer some fron the suits that will not be needed once we rech the shuttle.
23:31:36 - Methuslah: Good for 72 hours.
23:31:50 - Kit: That should be quite enough!
23:33:02 - Kit: How about fuel reserves of the Sliver?
23:33:24 - Methuslah: Just about sufficient.
23:34:24 - Kit: OK (comm to carrier) We will be transferring the passengers and injured to the shuttle, then I will fly the sliver to the carrier. Do you have a docking bay for a ship of (insert measurements of Silver Sliver)?
23:34:40 - Methuslah: "Docking in five minutes. Everything ready?"
23:35:45 - Kit: (com to Airlock) Prepare for a docking shuttle in Five minutes!
23:36:33 - Kraiger: Affirmative (preparing injured to move)
23:37:57 - Kit: Kraiger, leave me with one of the laser carabines, just in case!
23:38:45 - Kit: And don't forget the little "crown" for the commissioner. It is activated by the little red switch.
23:39:42 - Kit: And should you get to the carrier before me, unlikely as it may be with that snail as a pilot, prepare some coffee, will ya?
23:41:13 - Methuslah: "Coming in now. Brace yourselves."
23:41:22 - Kraiger: (bracing)
23:41:36 - Kit: OK, Ready
23:43:12 - Methuslah: With a slight thud, the shuttle attaches to the airlock. The ports quickly slide open, and a couple of men wearing navy uniforms scramble out, and begin bringing in the wounded. They motion you to follow them.
23:43:43 - Kit: Kraiger, get off. I'm taking this baby to the carrier.
23:44:52 - Kraiger: (transfer the passengers, but stay with Silver Silver)
23:45:24 - Kit: And what exactly are you still doing here Kraiger?
23:46:34 - Kraiger: I just wanted to see if there's any truth to this whole "go down with the ship" thing...
23:47:19 - Kit: You don't go down with the ship unless you let it go donw Kraiger! (but Kit is definitely smiling)
23:47:52 - Methuslah: One of the crewmen runs into the cabin.
23:48:02 - Methuslah: "Hey, get out of here! We're ready to undock!"
23:48:05 - Kit: Check the scanners, how far are the fighters of both sides?
23:48:48 - Kit: Go ahead, undock. We are not abandoning this ship just because Life support broke down. We're flying her to the fleet!
23:49:27 - Kraiger: (Clear airlock and prepare for undock)
23:49:42 - Methuslah: Imperial fighters in position, one squadron and more launching. Zhodani in combat range in four minutes."
23:49:48 - Methuslah: "Crazy civilians!"
23:50:12 - Methuslah: And the crewman ducks back into the shuttle. With a thud, the seal is broken, and the shuttle heads off for the carrier.
23:50:22 - Kit: Now get off this ship, and dare not call me a civilian again!!
23:50:50 - Kit: Resume course to the carrier.
23:52:05 - Methuslah: Well, that seems to be a good point to break off for the night. Good game, guys.
23:52:09 - Kraiger: OK, show that tight-arse what this baby can do Kit
23:52:44 - Kit: (comm to carrier) Imperial carrier, we are coming in. Requesr info on suitable docking bay!
23:53:24 - Kit: Strap in Kraiger. With the injured off, we can make this baby dance!!
23:53:32 - Methuslah: "You can enter through bay nine."
23:54:13 - Kit: (comm) bay nine affirmative. We are coming in! (plot course to carrier and full thrust ahead)
23:54:16 - Kraiger: (Strap in, keeping an eye on the scanners)
23:54:57 - Methuslah: ETA Eight minutes.
23:55:30 - Methuslah: Fighters are bearing. Two minutes to combat range.
23:55:59 - Kit: Hold on Kriager, this may get rough!
23:56:29 - Kit: (wraming maneuvering jets to prepare for whatever evasive maneuvers may be needed)
23:56:36 - Kraiger: OK....
23:57:12 - Methuslah: Combat range! Z-Fighters are launching missiles.
23:57:53 - Kraiger: You'd better make this good...
23:58:11 - Kit: preparing for evasive maneuvers and activation of wast dump when necessary)
23:58:26 - Methuslah: I-Fighters responding with laser fire. A burst of white light flashes up briefly as a laser finds it's mark. A pair of Imperial fighters dive in front off you, ranging in for a pass. Two of the missiles have homed on you. Sixty seconds to impact.
23:58:31 - Kit: Kraiger, check for any missiles bearing on us!
23:59:08 - Kit: Activating waste dump at 30 seconds, then evasive maneuvers.
23:59:10 - Kraiger: (Try to convey useful information from scanner - 2D6: 4)
23:59:26 - Kraiger: I think... um... hang on a minute...
23:59:33 - Methuslah: Nothing useful.
23:59:44 - Kit: (I guess you want a roll eh?, sigh. 2D6: 10)
Mon Dec 23 00:00:49 - Methuslah: With a gentle touch to a trhsuter, you send the sliver into a spin, throwing the missiles off track. Five minutes to landing bay.
Mon Dec 23 00:01:38 - Kit: (trying to comm into the imperial fighters communication) Hello, we got some rockets on our tail. 'be nice if you could take care of them since we don't have guns. Thank you!
Mon Dec 23 00:02:02 - Kit: (com) want me to lead them in fronta your noses?
Mon Dec 23 00:02:31 - Methuslah: "We're on it, SLiver. Let us do our job."
Mon Dec 23 00:03:07 - Kit: (com) Good shooting!
Mon Dec 23 00:03:26 - Kit: (heading on to landing bay)
Mon Dec 23 00:04:12 - Methuslah: Four minutes to landing bay. One of the Imperial ships vanishes from the sky in a flash of light - now two more Zhodani are bearing on you.
Mon Dec 23 00:05:09 - Kit: Can I confuse them through a clever maneuver, something like making them crash into each other or such?
(it always works in the movies)
Mon Dec 23 00:05:45 - Methuslah: You can try!
Mon Dec 23 00:05:52 - Kit: I think I could scramble their scanners for a few seconds with my waste dump.
Mon Dec 23 00:06:25 - Kit: OK, I will try, may the gods of dice rolls be with me 2D6: 11
Mon Dec 23 00:06:32 - Kit: Yeah!!
Mon Dec 23 00:07:35 - Kit: (I guess my luck is better as it geths later in the evening
)
Mon Dec 23 00:07:59 - Methuslah: The two Z-Fighters spin away, going wildly out of control. One of the them manages to recover, but the other is picked off in a nice flypast by a fighter. Two minutes to landing bay.
Mon Dec 23 00:08:56 - Kit: Kraiger, are they still on us or can the fighters take care of them? Or do you need a barfbag?
Mon Dec 23 00:10:19 - Kraiger: (Checking scanner - 2D6: 8)
Mon Dec 23 00:11:22 - Methuslah: The rest of the fighters seem to be lined up on the Imperials - with some success. Only five are left out of the ten that launched.
Mon Dec 23 00:11:51 - Methuslah: One minute to landing bay.
Mon Dec 23 00:12:09 - Kit: Preparing for Landing
Mon Dec 23 00:13:10 - Methuslah: The ship glides gnetly in, and the landing bay doors seal behind you with a resounding clump. The lights come on, and you can hear the hiss of the atmosphere coming in.
Mon Dec 23 00:13:42 - Kit: OK, Kraiger. Now did I promise too much?
Mon Dec 23 00:14:16 - Kit: (power down the Sliver)
Mon Dec 23 00:14:52 - Kit: I hopr the other shuttle got home safe as well
Mon Dec 23 00:14:51 - Methuslah: Well, this seems like a good place to halt for the night. Good game, guys!
Mon Dec 23 00:15:32 - Kit: OK. I'm just wondering when I will run out of luck
Mon Dec 23 00:16:22 - Kraiger: Phew! OK, hope to be on time next week...
Mon Dec 23 00:16:49 - Kit: Yup. Maybe you'll get a chance to fire some big guns then
Mon Dec 23 00:17:00 - Methuslah: Don't worry, we got a good session in tonight.
Mon Dec 23 00:17:34 - Kit: Say Kraiger, how are you with ships guns?
