Imperial Fringe Online Game Chat Session Log 10.11.2002

20:27:01 - Kit: Yes, if somewhat busy. So today is going to feature two happy army types unpacking really big guns? :-)
20:27:23 - Methuslah: Hello!
20:28:36 - Methuslah: I have a feeling that seems likely.
20:29:02 - Kit: Sigh. There goes the Neighbourhood.
20:30:07 - Methuslah: Heading upwards at about fifty mph, I would suspect.
20:30:27 - Kraiger:
20:31:15 - StewartBailey just entered this channel
20:32:41 - Methuslah: Hi!
20:33:02 - StewartBailey: Hello again.
20:33:16 - Kraiger: Ah, Mr. PGMP!
20:34:52 - StewartBailey: Carpe armis.
20:35:20 - Methuslah: Why do I think I'm going to regret bringing out the heavy guns?
20:35:51 - StewartBailey: Because you are?
20:36:14 - Kraiger: "Seize the guns?" Nice phrase...
20:36:48 - Methuslah: Still, I thought it was only fair. After all, you are definately going to need them.
20:37:18 - Kit: we are? Urgh. I hate that.
20:37:35 - Methuslah: Evil cackle.
20:37:40 - Kit: There were some laser rifle parts too, am I correct?
20:38:14 - Kit: Did I mention that I'm a doctor, not a ... shootist!?
20:38:40 - Methuslah: Yes - each of the three crates contained enough parts for maybe ten carbines, on close inspection. Everything seems to be present, except the tools to build them.
20:39:16 - Kit: I should have enough of those among the stuff in my pockets.
20:39:31 - StewartBailey: Those PGMPs are valuable, even if you don't want to actually shoot them.
20:39:44 - Kit: Energy packs? Charged?
20:40:24 - Kit: Well Steward, If i was in this for the money, I'd have stayed on Regina.
20:40:26 - Methuslah: They seem also to be intact. The energy packs are present, but not charged. They appear to connect to a standard power link.
20:40:56 - StewartBailey: They should plug in to ship's power easily.
20:41:00 - Kit: Enough Power in the system here to charge them? and how long would that take?
20:41:20 - Kraiger: Any way to charge them here, seeing as we have power? (Not that I really intend to shoot them of course...)
20:42:04 - Kit: say Kraiger, weren't you following someone just as we stopped last session?
20:42:22 - Methuslah: Probably an hour. There are no standard links on this ship - it is over two centuries old - but you might be able to rig something.
20:42:26 - Methuslah: Shall we begin? As I recall, you were chasing a man down the corridor, almost certainly one of the locals.
20:42:47 - Kit: Ready to begin
20:43:30 - Kraiger: (OK, I was following as quietly as possible, pistol drawn, and loaded with a clip of HEAP)
20:43:31 - StewartBailey: Do our comm units work here?
20:43:58 - Kraiger: (Stealth - 1)
20:44:30 - Methuslah: They should do, but there is a very bad crackle on the linkup that renders communication difficult, even over only a few meters. They will probably not be much use for voice communication.
20:44:56 - StewartBailey: No local capability?
20:45:03 - Methuslah: The other man is running down the corridor, and soon drops out of sight. You still hear his footsteps echoing around the walls. After three or four minutes, they begin to slow.
20:45:46 - Kit: (I'll gather up enough parts for three laser rifles and two PGMPs and try to pack them into an easily portable format (bundle them together or somesuch))
20:45:47 - Methuslah: The storm will be interfering with the local communications setup - facilities are somewhat sparse here.
20:45:52 - Kraiger: (Keep following, ready for a surprise or ambush)
20:45:54 - Methuslah: (OK)
20:47:09 - Methuslah: You walk around the corridor as silently as you can. Make a roll on your Stealth - 7 or over will be needed.
20:47:34 - Kraiger: 2D6: 7
20:47:45 - Kraiger: (phew)
20:48:32 - Methuslah: You almost slip on a piece of wet deck plating, but keep your feet and sneak around the corricor. The footsteps have stoppped altogether now, and you can hear hushed voices from up ahead.
20:49:04 - Kraiger: (close in to listen - _very_ quietly)
20:49:57 - Methuslah: The voices are of two people, one you recognize as Gus. The other is one you have not heard before - it has a very peculiar accent, one you cannot quite place.
20:50:16 - Methuslah: "Well find them! There is too much at stake to let a bunch of Imperials cause problems."
20:50:35 - Methuslah: "What with, Col-o-nel. I have no legion here."
20:50:44 - Methuslah: "Your business, Captain. Dismiss."
20:50:51 - Kraiger: (check for a place to conceal myself should they come this way...)
20:50:56 - Methuslah: One set of footsteps echoes down the corridor.
20:51:46 - Kraiger: (Try to follow the "other" voice if I can make it out)
20:52:29 - Methuslah: The other set moves off, slightly more quietly. He is going in the same direction, much more slowly. There is nothing else to be heard.
20:53:09 - Kraiger: (follow along - did they meet at any particular "landmark" (shipmark?) ? )
20:53:50 - Methuslah: It seems to be a T-junction. You notice that a bank of panels on the wall appears to be operational, and there is a door just around the corner, closed.
20:54:57 - Kraiger: ( Take a mental note of the location (recon-1), and continue following the slow steps)
20:55:20 - Kraiger: (Hey, Gus is a _captain_??? WHo'd a thought....)
20:55:53 - Methuslah: The slow steps seem to have followed th branch off the main corrior, past the door. You can faintly make out the back of Gus, heading up the corridor in that direction, his head bowed down.
20:57:02 - Kraiger: ( Sorry, both people went the same way?)
20:57:27 - Methuslah: Yes.
20:57:33 - Methuslah: One more qickly than the other.
20:58:00 - Kraiger: (Ah, OK, so Gus is the slow one, right?)
20:58:35 - Methuslah: Yes.
20:58:46 - Kraiger: (So, I'll tail gus, quietly as usual)
21:00:03 - StewartBailey: Meanwhile, I'll try to assemble the PGMPs. I believe that it was an engineering roll that was needed ( 2D6: 6, eng-1)
21:00:19 - Methuslah: He wlaks off down the corridor, slowly, then stops and turns to the wall. It looks like he is tapping at a panel.
21:01:14 - Methuslah: You've managed to piece the first one together. Unlike the laser carbines, these are modular, requiring only linkups. However, you cannot be sure that they are correctly assembled until you actually fire it.
21:01:35 - Kit: (I'll start with teh laser carabines 2D6: 6)
21:02:38 - Methuslah: The first one is assembled. It is a rather more intricate job aligining the crystals, but not difficult for your talents. You can construct one every ten minutes, without a roll from now on.
21:02:41 - Kraiger: (OK, here is the chance I was looking for. It is time to confront Gus...)
21:02:53 - Kit: (OK, will do so)
21:02:59 - Methuslah: Looking more carefully at the second crate, you see that the compoenents for one carbine have been removed.
21:03:25 - Kraiger: ( I will sneak up behind him, at just the right distance so he can't spin and grab me, and say in a quiet voice...)
21:03:30 - Methuslah: (What do you wish to do?)
21:03:34 - Kit: One of these here is missing. Someone else besides us has been at the crates!
21:04:04 - Kraiger: (So, Captain, a bit of a come down being stuck on this backwater, eh?)
21:04:23 - Methuslah: Gus spins about, and his hand flies to his belt.
21:05:15 - Kraiger: (Making a clear gesture with the pistol) I wouldn't try that Captain - not unless you think ending spread over the wall of a derelict spaceship will help your cause
21:05:56 - Kraiger: ( Was it his right hand?)
21:06:05 - StewartBailey just entered this channel
21:06:15 - Methuslah: Gus makes a wry smile, and raises his hands to the air.
21:06:19 - Methuslah: (Yes)
21:07:12 - Methuslah: In a crisp tone he recites, "Captain Gustavus Tellor, Technum Corps of Marines. And that is all you will get from me."
21:07:26 - Kraiger: (Can I make out what sort of weapon it was?) Reach down to your <weapon> with your left hand captain, and pull it out slowly with two fingers - I'm sure you know the drill...
21:07:56 - Methuslah: "But of course."
21:07:59 - StewartBailey: (I'll give the PGMP assembling another shot: 2D6: 11 eng-1)
21:08:20 - Methuslah: He reaches around to his hand, and pulls out his sidearm, dropping it to the floor. It is of a desing that s totally unfamiliar to you.
21:08:46 - Methuslah: (Thsi this the pieces fit together much mroe smoothly. You know the second one will work propoerly, the first time.)
21:09:09 - Kraiger: And I have a feeling that the Technum never signed any "geneva convention" treaties either... now kick the gun over here _slowly_
21:09:52 - Kraiger: (Is there any concelaed place I can move Gus away from the main corridor?)
21:10:47 - Methuslah: He moves his foot back up, and swings it down, sending the gun on a high trajectory to hit the bulkhead just behind you. It clatters to the floor.
21:11:06 - Methuslah: There is a closed door to your back and right, otherwise the walls are smooth.
21:12:03 - Kraiger: (*sigh) I am _not_ a patient man Captain, and I will have absolutely _no_ remorse over leaving you dead if you try a trick like that again. Now, down on your face, arms outstretched
21:12:40 - Kraiger: ( Do I have something I could bind his arms with?)
21:12:43 - Methuslah: He drops down to the floor, and lies as instructed.
21:14:35 - Kraiger: (Can I use a tranq bullet to tranquilise him without firing it?)
21:15:33 - Methuslah: Yes, by stabbing the bullet head into a vein.
21:16:51 - Kraiger: (I'll bind his arms, being _very_ careful not to let him get a swing at me, and then try to open the door)
21:18:43 - Methuslah: The door's original switch is intact. It opens to reveal an office. There are four chairs, a table with a bottle and four glasses on it (all empty), and a map of Trane on one wall. On another is a map of the subsector, and a banner is fixed to the other - a hand reaching out for a cluster of stars.
21:20:34 - Kraiger: OK Captain, up on your knees, and move into the office please (keeping him covered all the time)
21:21:49 - Kraiger: (quick last check of corridor, and follow him in, closing the door)
21:22:02 - Methuslah: He stands up, his arms dropping to his sides, and makes his way into the room, sitting himself down on a chair in front of the desk.
21:23:04 - Methuslah: You see nothing else in the corridor.
21:24:29 - Kraiger: ( Stand behind him) So Captain, The Technum Marines are into smuggling now, eh?
21:24:55 - Methuslah: Back in the cargo hold, you see that Sikkaa has stood up, and is walking towards the door.
21:25:13 - Methuslah: "I am a patriot, sir, not a smuggler."
21:25:53 - Kit: Hey, where are you going? Stop.
21:26:10 - StewartBailey: (Just to be safe, I'll discard that first attempt, but try another: 2D6: 9 eng-1)
21:26:17 - Methuslah: He continues to move forward.
21:26:45 - Kraiger: (Meth, would you like to switch between the action, or run both at once?)
21:28:15 - Methuslah: I can run both at once.
21:28:59 - Methuslah: You break apart he PGMP, and find that you had connected up the energy input circuits incorrectly. You would have givent he planet a new moon if you had fired it. As it is, you correct the mistake.
21:29:36 - Kit: (I'm sprinting to get oin front of him, pulling out my gun) Please, Don't let me regret that we saved your life. Stop at once and explain where you wanted to go! (level the gun at him) Or You'll regret it.
21:29:37 - Kraiger: (Call it what you will Captain, you are operating without your uniform or insignia, and that makes you a spy - for which I am sure you are aware of the penalty...
21:30:20 - Methuslah: Sikkaa continues to walk forward. You otice that his eyes look glazed over, as if he isn't in control.
21:30:49 - Methuslah: "The penalty of espionage is death, a death I am willing to accept for my Motherland."
21:31:13 - Kit: (OK, fine, I'll knock him unconscious)
21:31:33 - Methuslah: Sikkaa falls to the ground - he made no attempt to resist you.
21:32:14 - Kit: (I'll drag him back behind the crates, tie him up and blindfoil him. I try to be gentle. It wasn't his fault.
21:32:17 - Kraiger: *sigh* you fanatics are all the same (As I talk, I pull out a tranq round, and line up the spot to hit him with it)
21:32:47 - Kit: (Ill regularily check his vital signs for any sign of trouble)
21:32:48 - Kraiger: Victory without regards to the means is no victory at all
21:33:03 - Methuslah: "You would kill me with your superiors to back you? You show more spirit that I thought you had."
21:34:31 - Methuslah: You notice S.'s vital sing fluctuate briefly, but they settle down. He begins to snore.
21:35:03 - Kraiger: Captain, I am a soldier, something it seems _you_ wouldn't understand. You have declared yourself an enemy soldier - I would have no regrets killing you. What I would not do is stoop to terrorism, and killing inocent people in the name of "The Motherland"
21:35:16 - Methuslah: "Victory makes it's own rules, and requires whatever means it needs."
21:35:39 - Methuslah: "I am no terrorist. Just a soldier like you, doing his job in a war which never ends."
21:36:18 - Kit: I really really hate these mindreaders and thought controllers. Grumble grumble (I'll check Sikaa up and down to see wether he has some kind of device or somesuch that could have induced his strange behaviour)
21:36:43 - Kraiger: OK, so lets make a deal. You are obviously siding with the Zhodani, from the old "the enemy of my friend is my enemy" reasoning....
21:37:15 - Methuslah: You find nothing on Sikkaa of any note, just a few food sticks in his pocket.
21:37:39 - Kraiger: (OOps, I mean the enemy of my enemy is my friend )
21:37:43 - Methuslah: "I will speak of ideals - not actualities."
21:38:10 - Kit: (I'll make sure he is comfortable and go back to assembling the guns)
21:38:15 - Kraiger: Ideals then - _Why_ help the Zhodani? Money?
21:39:02 - Methuslah: "Honour. Glory. Pride. Destiny." He stresses that last word.
21:39:47 - Methuslah: "WHy do you fight for the Empire?"
21:40:21 - Kraiger: You believe your ideals align with those of the Zhodani? You are fooling yourself Captain - once they have used you, the Zhodani will discard you like a broken tool...
21:41:04 - Kraiger: I fight _against_ those who think their ideals justify torture and persecution of others.
21:41:12 - Methuslah: "Or we will discard them."
21:41:42 - Kraiger: ( I've had enough - not going to learn anything useful from this bozo, so at a good point, I'll tranq him)
21:42:17 - Kraiger: (You'll discard the _Zhodani_? My Captain, you _do_ have a high regard of the Technum...
21:42:19 - Methuslah: "Who is holding who prisoner? Who is threatening who with posion? Examine your own motives carefully. You will find your Empire is dirtier than you could imagine."
21:43:33 - Methuslah: "Many things are posible for us, Colonel."
21:44:47 - Kraiger: ( Tranq him, bind him, and frisk him.
21:45:49 - Methuslah: His head slumps in the chair. In his pockets you find three gadgets of unfamiliar design. Not Zhodani, certainly not Imperial. He has a 'Golden Pastries' bar in his pocket, aside from that, nothing.
21:46:51 - StewartBailey just entered this channel
21:46:58 - Kraiger: (Pocket the stuff, open the door, and carefuly check the corridor)
21:47:17 - StewartBailey: (I guess that it's my turn to have connection problems this week.)
21:47:35 - Kit: (Steward, are you haveing computer troubles again?)
21:47:39 - Methuslah: You can see nothing, but you can hear voices from deeper in the ship. The echoes make it difficult for you to work out what direction they are coming from.
21:48:45 - Kraiger: (OK, I'll collect Gus' gun, and then make my way carefully back to the others)
21:49:10 - Methuslah: After about five minutes, Kraiger comes walking into the cargo bay.
21:50:01 - Kraiger: Hey there (fill them in on my adventures...)
21:50:02 - Kit: Hi Kraiger. Looks like you found Gus.
21:50:39 - Kit: Uh Ohh. Can I see the Devices you found on him?
21:51:25 - Kraiger: Here they are (and meanwhile I will study his pistol)
21:51:36 - Kit: We had some minor problems with Silvaa here too, seems to be under some kind of mental compulsion. Had to knock him out. Poor guy.
21:51:55 - Methuslah: Make an Engineering roll (8 plus, with your skill accounted for) for each one - four in total.
21:51:58 - Kit: (Ill look at the gadgets. Can I make anything of them?)
21:52:21 - Kit: 2D6: 6
21:52:27 - Kit: 2D6: 6
21:52:33 - Kit: 2D6: 7
21:52:40 - Kit: 2D6: 5
21:52:49 - Kit: (not my day, sigh)
21:53:14 - Kraiger: for the pistol - 2D6: 10
21:53:19 - Methuslah: Not a thing. You will be able to make the checks again in a workshop.
21:53:53 - StewartBailey: Hey let me see those ( 2D6: 6, 2D6: 6, 2D6: 6, 2D6: 6, eng-1)
21:54:05 - Kit: Hmm. Well. I'm not sure. I'll have to get a closer look with better equipment. OK with you if I take them along?
21:54:27 - Methuslah: It isn't quite your field, but the crystal assembly reminds you of an old study you read on high-intensity beam projection. It would be more powerful than a standard laser, and more compact.
21:54:34 - Methuslah: Not a thing, Stewart.
21:54:45 - Methuslah: The 'field' was Kraiger's.
21:56:23 - Kit: (Ill pockt the gadgets) Hey, Guys. How about we find a secure spot to hide our guests and then go exploring a bit. I'd really learn what's goin on here and we need some way to get off this place, once the storm stops. These guys are bount to have another boat or preferably even a shuttle somewhere!
21:56:23 - Kraiger: Sure, keep 'em Kit. I'll keep this baby... (can I figure out the safety at least?)
21:56:55 - Methuslah: Sikkaa appears to be revivng.
21:57:23 - Kit: His Eyes still glazed? (Ill remove the blindfoil)
21:57:33 - Kit: Hey, you ok?
21:57:56 - Methuslah: Nothing. The trigger is the only thing you recognize. There are a number of buttons on the side, but no clue as to their function.
21:58:16 - Methuslah: "I am recovered. I thank you."
21:58:58 - Kit: What happened? Your eyes glazed over and you started to walk away. You might have stumbled somewhere dangerous, thats Why I had to knock you out.
21:59:51 - Methuslah: "One of the telepaths took control. I must have fallen asleep. Please leave me tied up - else I am a danger to you."
22:00:23 - Kit: Can this happen again? And what would the telepath know when he does that?
22:01:02 - Kraiger: (I'll check out the assembled weapons) (*click*, *snap*) Hey, good job guys! Pity we don't have a charge for these things...
22:02:03 - Methuslah: "It could if I sleep."
22:02:07 - Kit: We can charge the lasers from the local system, it just takes some fiddling and time. Though I suggest we leave here and find a secure place as a base.
22:02:35 - Kraiger: (I'll fiddle with the buttons on the pistol to see if I can at least click-out the power pack)
22:02:43 - Kit: So as long as you are awake, it won't happen? I can give you some medicine to keep you awake for a while, if you want?
22:03:11 - Kraiger: Yeah, this place is starting to make me a little nervous. Lets head back to where I left Gus...
22:03:43 - Methuslah: You hear a humming coming from the pistol.
22:04:03 - Kit: Be careful with that thing!
22:04:14 - Kit: (ready to duck)
22:04:57 - Methuslah: The humming is beginning to increase, and one of the buttons if flashing red.
22:05:24 - Methuslah: (is)
22:05:32 - Kraiger: (Pointing downrange of course...) Ahhh, its ok, I see what it is
22:05:42 - Kit: Umm, Lets go, that sounds dangerous (grab Silvaa and assembled weapons and head for exit QUICKLY)
22:06:20 - Kraiger: (Ah crap - OK, push the red button, while pointing at the far wall)
22:07:12 - Kraiger: ( I'm ready to chuck this thing, incase I triggered a booby trap)
22:07:32 - Methuslah: A bright purple beam shoots from the gun. The wall burns a bright red, and molten metal begins to drip to the floor. The beam quickly subsides, and the wall begins to cool - but a hold is burned at least three inches deep.
22:08:01 - Kit: Ouch!
22:08:15 - Methuslah: (hole)
22:08:51 - Kit: Quite powerful. You happy now Kraiger? Lets go!
22:09:11 - Kraiger: Hmmm, I _like_ this (Do I know what I did? This was without touching the trigger, right?)
22:09:37 - Methuslah: Yes. You would guess that you activated some sort of overload feature.
22:09:53 - Methuslah: Without touching the trigger. The beam was prbably a safety feature.
22:10:06 - Kraiger: OK, lets go (I've got a new respect for these Technum guys)
22:10:10 - Kit: (to Silvaa) About those other telepaths. What can they do to/with you or us and at what distance? Would you notice it if they did something?
22:10:48 - Kraiger: (Safety??? Aw-righht! I'll keep the pistol with me for now...)
22:11:15 - Kraiger: (Heading back to the office)
22:11:16 - Kit: Sigh, why did I expect that?
22:11:16 - Methuslah: "I am vulnerable as I was raised to be. You are not. You are1% (he chokes) free."
22:12:08 - Kit: 1% free? Thats not very much, or do you mean 100?
22:12:28 - Kit: What do you mean by "you were raised to be vulnerable"?
22:12:42 - Methuslah: I meant to write You are (he chokes) free.'
22:12:55 - Methuslah: It is part of our training."
22:13:34 - Kit: They train you to be succeptible to mind control? Why that? Don't they trust their own people?
22:14:12 - Methuslah: "Trust is total because control is total."
22:15:00 - Kit: Oh yeah. No free speech, not even free thought. I wouldn't want to love that way. I pity you.
22:15:21 - Kit: (oops Live of course, not love)
22:15:38 - Kit: Are you happy living that way?
22:16:00 - Methuslah: "You should. And happiness is also total. So they say."
22:16:27 - Kit: Fine, I know what they say, what about your own opinion?
22:16:55 - Methuslah: "I would say that happiness is the only thing that is not total."
22:17:10 - Kit: I noticed the pilot seemed very nervous, almost scared. Is that a common trait among the.. proles... of your people?
22:17:22 - Kit: Do you have a family?
22:17:48 - Methuslah: "I myself am a prole. HE was trying to impress. Proles can be promoted."
22:18:35 - Kit: He was trying to impress by acting scared? I can' quite see the reasoning behind that.
22:22:08 - Methuslah just entered this channel
22:22:43 - Methuslah: "Punishment in a telepathic society is..." (He shudders, and looks up to the ceiling.
22:22:45 - Kit: If they can only control your body when you fall asleep, I think it's quite safe to untie you for now. You can walk on your own. If you feel tired and in danger of falling asleep, tell me. And if you want, I can give you something to keep you awake. Though I know your people have some resentments against chemical stimulating substances.
22:23:40 - Methuslah: "Such are not our way. We use the mind to heal."
22:23:40 - Kit: Do you have the option of leaving your society? Or is such a thing restricted?
22:24:43 - Methuslah: "You do not understand. If we get out of this alive. Sikkaa is dead. Very tragic, of course. You understand?"
22:24:44 - Kit: Yes, and also to control. Sigh. I really pity you. If you ever want to find a new society to live in, I'm sure I can find you a nice place somewhere.
22:25:07 - Kit: Why would you be dead? Would your people kill you?
22:26:09 - Kraiger: (I don't like this - Kraiger is on full alert (with the snub pistol, not the laser) )
22:26:43 - Methuslah: "You do not understand. Sikkaa will be killed in the fighting. After today, Sikkaa no longer exists. Whatever happens."
22:27:12 - Methuslah: The corridor is empty, nothing to trobule you - but you do see fresh footprints on the floor, three of them, heading towards the office.
22:27:27 - Kit: Do you mean to say that even if we get out of this alive (which I will assume for now) you will be considered dead by your people?
22:27:53 - Kit: Regardless of wether you are actually still walking around?
22:28:04 - Kraiger: Oh oh - guys, looks like they may have found Gus...
22:28:51 - Kit: Then we should find us another base to charge up the weapons and prepare. I'm afraid we'll have a hard time getting out of here.
22:28:56 - Methuslah: "I sincerely hope they will think me dead."
22:29:17 - Kit: At how great a range can they sense you?
22:29:19 - Methuslah: The footsteps turn up the corridor - but wlak on past the door.
22:30:14 - Methuslah: "Will they still be around to sense?"
22:30:48 - Kraiger: Here is the office - stand back (opens door and ducks back)
22:30:57 - Kit: I Dunno? That depends on what is going on here, which we still don't know, and wether there will be a fight or not.
22:31:26 - Methuslah: Gus is still in the chair, unconsious. You can see no-one else.
22:31:47 - Kit: Kraiger, do you think this place is safe?
22:32:18 - Kraiger: I guess this office is as safe as any place - I'm sure you could figure out how to lock the door Kit...
22:32:21 - Kit: Silvaa, at the moment they certainly are around here somewhere. So can they sense you here?
22:32:59 - Kit: Kraiger, I guess I could, but that would leafe us caught in a dead end. You think that's a good idea?
22:33:22 - Kraiger: But personally, I won't feel safe anywhere until we find the others - I want to follow these prints... fancy tagging along?
22:33:50 - Methuslah: "If they wish to, they can."
22:34:08 - Kit: How many potential opponents are we expecting?
22:34:25 - Kit: slvaa: can they sense you if you are unconscious?
22:34:36 - Kraiger: Perhaps we should lock Silva in there with Gus? For everyone's safety?
22:35:20 - Methuslah: "They can control me if I am unconsious."
22:35:42 - Methuslah: "I was told nothing. But certainly all those in our party, and those on the shiops orbiting us."
22:36:22 - Kit: I dunno. I hate to leave someone behind helpless. Gus people probably wont harm him, about silvaas people I'm not so sure. And either of them would be halpless should something happen, like a Fire caused by fighting or somesuch.
22:37:22 - Kraiger: Yes, very noble Kit, but if they can sense Silvaa, then there's not a lot of point in trying to sneak up on them...
22:37:45 - Kit: I doubt that those on the ships can land as long as the storm is raging. I hope to have a boat and maybe even a shuttle for us as soon as it slows down. Whatever we do, we should not tarry too long.
22:39:00 - Kit: I doubt that they will constantly try to sense him. I personally would prefer to take both of them along with us idf we leave this place.
22:40:01 - Kit: suggestion: You two follow the tracks. You are better at fighting than I am anyway. I stay here with silvaa and gus and use the time to charge the rifles. I'll try to call for Help should I be discovered, and you tweo try to gather information foremost.
22:40:30 - Kraiger: OK - Stewart?
22:40:45 - Kit: Try to find a way for us to get off this ship as soon as the storm looses up.
22:41:20 - Kit: I'm getting too old for sneaking and running around anyways.
22:41:46 - Kraiger: OK, I'll be back (Kraiger quietly follows the tracks)
22:42:17 - Kit: ILll lock the door, knock three times if you return, then Ill let you in!
22:42:39 - Kraiger: ( Did we lose Stewart?)
22:43:11 - Methuslah: The tracks lead off into the center of the ship. You start to see closed doors on either side of you, but the footprints lead on.
22:43:23 - Kit: Silvaa, If you feel tired and in need of sleep, tell me. Then I'll tie you up again ok? (proceed to do whatever is necessary to charge the weapons)
22:43:40 - Kraiger: (Following on...)
22:44:05 - Methuslah: "I will tell you."
22:45:35 - Methuslah: The footprints lead to a crossroads, in what must be the hart of ths ship. A ladder leads up to a closed hatchway. Only one of the footprints continues on down the corridor - the others disappear.
22:46:12 - Kraiger: (Any indication what might be up the ladder?)
22:46:15 - Methuslah: You will have to jury-rig a link from one of the old fashioned power points. Engineering roll, 5 or better.
22:46:36 - Kit: 2D6: 5
22:47:03 - Kit: (never waste effort )
22:48:25 - Methuslah: The power begins to drain into the power pack. It will take an hour to charge.
22:48:52 - Methuslah: (You suspect it could be the control deck - or what's left of it. Remember that the other levels were seriously damaged.)
22:49:45 - Kraiger: ( - thats what I thought - and really where I want to go - any chance I can open the hatch quietly?)
22:50:41 - Kit: (While waiting for the pack to load, I'll chat a while with Silvaa, try to easy his anxiety (and learn about his people), I'll also show him the gadgets we found on Gus and ask him, wether he has seen such things before. Also Ill occasionally check up on Gus to see if he is all right)
22:51:06 - Kraiger: ( Scratch that - I'll follow the other prints)
22:51:31 - Methuslah: They contiue down the corridor, and then stop at a door. You can hear talking inside.
22:51:41 - Methuslah: Shouting almost - with that same odd accent.
22:51:53 - Kraiger: (Try to listen in)
22:52:17 - Kit: (o, Yes, I will try to lock/bar the dorr such a way that it can onla be opened from the inside!
22:53:16 - Methuslah: (Ok)
22:53:49 - Methuslah: "....more men....strike.....targets established.....commence battle.....rising. Twenty..."
22:54:03 - Methuslah: Then the voice stops, and you hear footprints heading towards the door.
22:54:06 - Kraiger: ( Question - what is the effect of a gas round? disable (tear gas) or unconscious? )
22:54:57 - Kraiger: (OK, its time - steady myself infront of the door, pistol raised at where a face will appear)
22:55:33 - Kraiger: ( Wish I had one of those PGMPs now!)
22:55:51 - Kraiger: (Also checking for exits if I need to run)
22:56:21 - Methuslah: Unconsiousness.
22:56:43 - Methuslah: The door slides open, and the Commissar walks out. When he sees you, he makes to dive back into the room.
22:57:27 - Kraiger: (Pistol trained at Comisars head) OK, nobody move - and I mean it!
22:58:37 - Kraiger: (Any weapons in sight?)
22:58:55 - Methuslah: The Commissar dives back into the room, and reaches for the door control.
22:59:19 - Kit: (dont forget they're telepaths and can call help without you ever knowing!)
22:59:39 - Kit: (ok, Im not there, I'll shut up )
23:00:35 - Kraiger: (Into the lions'd den - step forward, point gun at Comisar "don't try it!"
23:01:21 - Kraiger: (I pick up a strange tingle as Kit sends me a telapathinc message! )
23:02:30 - Methuslah: He raises his hands. Then he begins to stare at you, his eyes piercing your very soul....
23:05:00 - Methuslah: Your mind begins to wander, and the room begins to blur.....
23:06:12 - Methuslah: Then you find yourself lying on the floor, the gun gone - and the Commissar.
23:06:34 - Kit: (Hey Kraiger, do somethin! I dont wanna have to shoot you out all by myself!)
23:07:11 - Kraiger: (Hello?)
23:07:12 - Kraiger: (test)
23:07:34 - Methuslah: (I see yo.)
23:08:05 - Kit: (me too why didnt you react?)
23:08:21 - Kraiger: (Crap, bad time for my connection to go wonky )
23:08:56 - Kraiger: (OK, next time I shoot the bastard on sight!)
23:09:51 - Methuslah: About ten minutes have passed, acording to your watch.
23:10:01 - Kit: ( I assume a good hard whack on the head would do the trick as well)
23:10:43 - Kraiger: (OK, I'm pissed off now - head back to the office. Do I have my body-pistol on me?)
23:11:49 - Methuslah: It was lying on the floor next to you. You arrive back at the office after another five minutes.
23:11:58 - Kit: (you should be dammnd glad they didnt kill or capture you!)
23:12:11 - StewartBailey: (The connection's back up!)
23:12:29 - Kit: (makes me wonder why they didnt?)
23:13:11 - Kraiger: (Hey Stewart - I really could have used your help back there! )
23:13:33 - Kraiger: (By the way, I say _nothing_ about this to Kit! )
23:14:05 - Kit: (worried 'bout my sharp tongue? )
23:14:21 - Kraiger: (You got it ;b )
23:14:45 - Kraiger: ( Was that my body Pistol or my Snub pistol that I found?)
23:15:14 - Methuslah: Your snub pistrol.
23:16:53 - Kraiger: '0 OK, I've had enough of these guys... Stewart, you with me?
23:17:13 - StewartBailey: Let's go.
23:17:38 - Methuslah: Are you going back up to the ladder?
23:18:41 - Kraiger: (First, I'm going to take a practice shot with the las pistol to make sure its armed)
23:19:14 - StewartBailey: Hey, give me one of those weapons you have.
23:19:19 - Methuslah: What are you shooting at?
23:20:02 - Kraiger: (No, second thought - I will load one gas round in a clip of HE for the snub pistol)
23:20:53 - Methuslah: To fire first, I assume.
23:20:56 - Kraiger: Stewart, I don't trust this las pistol - do you want to borrow my body pistol?
23:21:13 - Kraiger: (Yes, gas round first, the HE...)
23:21:14 - StewartBailey: Sure.
23:22:14 - Kraiger: (Then, back to the ladder)
23:23:58 - Methuslah: You reach the ladder without incident. Nothing is new on the scene.
23:24:42 - Kraiger: OK, I'll pop the hatch, first sign of movement, I gas 'em
23:25:48 - Methuslah: The hatch pops open in a smooth movement. Nothing stirs above. You can feel spots of rain on your face.
23:26:24 - Kraiger: (*grin*) Ah, forgot the ship might be missing a level or two!
23:26:46 - Kraiger: (no signs of life?)
23:27:40 - Methuslah: You are climbing through the hatch?
23:28:57 - Kraiger: (Can I see by popping my head up?)
23:29:01 - StewartBailey: I'll go, you cover me.
23:29:44 - Methuslah: Yes.
23:30:41 - Kraiger: (I'll just pop my head up for a quick look)
23:32:32 - Methuslah: Looking up, you see sky above you - the storm seems to be beginning to die down a little. A group of men are clearing a space on the deck. The whole area above is open to the elelments, with twisted bits of metal littering the place. No-one has noticed you.
23:36:23 - Kraiger: (how many men?)
23:37:07 - Kraiger: (I don't suppose the gas is much good outdoors, is it...)
23:38:47 - Methuslah: Four that you can see.
23:40:44 - Kraiger: Armed?) Stewart, cover me and see if you can raise the ship - I'm going to settle this thing now)
23:41:28 - Methuslah: Not that you can see.
23:42:22 - StewartBailey: (I'll try the comm to the ship while covering Kraiger with th body pistol.) "If it makes you feel better..."
23:42:23 - Kraiger: (OK, I'll very quietly move up closer to them, and get into a good position of cover)
23:42:58 - Kraiger: Just don't shoot _me_ with that thing!
23:43:24 - Kraiger: roll for stealth -1 2D6: 8
23:43:51 - Methuslah: "****read you. Boost********************Deck three. Control is*******fire. He's*********you. Copy?"
23:44:40 - Methuslah: You manage to hide behind some wreckage, concealing yourself. They have cleared a large section of deck now, and one of them appears to be seting up a beacon of some kind.
23:44:50 - StewartBailey: (Pointing to the radio.) No problem.
23:45:36 - Kraiger: (Any insignia or signs of who they are? I'm assumign Technum...)
23:46:34 - Methuslah: Two of them are wearing civilian clothers. The otherrs seem to be wearing Zhodan uniforms - theyy look like the ones that accompanied you to Trane.
23:48:12 - Kraiger: (communicator to Stewart) Watch your back - the Comisar's down there somewhere. I'm going in...
23:49:24 - Kraiger: ( I'll line up the gas round on one of the Zhodani)
23:50:12 - Methuslah: OK 6 or more to hit.
23:50:38 - Kraiger: come on - 2D6: 4
23:50:58 - Kraiger: (crap!!!! )
23:51:53 - Methuslah: A puff of gas rises from the deck as your round flies wild. The Zhodani dive to the deck, the other two pull pistols out of their shoulder holsters. A purple beam flies above you, and the othes points directly at you with his.
23:52:01 - Kraiger: Alright, everbody freeze! (I shout)
23:52:32 - Kraiger: (well, that didn't work! Diving for cover...)
23:52:44 - Methuslah: "Stand up Imperial! Or we fire!"
23:52:49 - StewartBailey: I'm taking careful aim at one of the guys in civilian clothes.
23:53:22 - Kraiger: (How good is my cover? Can I make a break for it while keeping out of sight?)
23:53:38 - Kit: (btw. How much time has passed on the charging process so far?)
23:53:57 - Methuslah: About twenty minutes.
23:54:08 - StewartBailey: "Who does this guy think he's dealing with?" (firing pistol 2D6: 10 pistol-1, dex=A)
23:54:14 - Methuslah: They will get one shot each at you - albeit with reduced cahnces to hit.
23:54:56 - Kraiger: (I'll fire an HE round as a distraction, and make a break for it)
23:55:05 - Methuslah: You catch one of the 'civilians' square in the shoulder - roll 3d to see how much damage.
23:55:28 - Kraiger: 2D6: 5
23:55:31 - Methuslah: AN explosion rises from the deck, drawing all the attention, as Kraiger dashes back to the hatch.
23:55:32 - StewartBailey: 3D6: 13
23:55:37 - StewartBailey: Ouch!
23:55:42 - Kraiger: (not my game for firing weapons!)
23:55:59 - Methuslah: He slumps to the ground, dead.
23:56:18 - StewartBailey: I'll shoot at the other civilian next ( 2D6: 9 pistol-1 dex=A)
23:56:29 - Kraiger: (diving into the hatch) Well stewart, wanna play with a PGMP?
23:56:35 - Methuslah: Roll 3d for damage.
23:56:48 - StewartBailey: 3D6: 13
23:56:54 - Methuslah: (Deadeye there doesn't need one.)
23:57:02 - StewartBailey: Ouch again!
23:57:25 - Kraiger: (Hey, _I'm_ supposed to be the gun slinger! )
23:57:28 - Methuslah: The other man falls back, dead. The two Zhos have run off into the rubble.
23:57:29 - Kit: (no need for a doctor there any more, call the undertaker )
23:58:05 - Kraiger: (Well, that turned the tide, I'll try and get a bead on a Zhodani, and call out to them to surrender)
23:58:06 - StewartBailey: "Drop your weapons and come out with your hands where we can see them!"
23:59:22 - Kraiger: Now _this_ game I like (I'll follow them, using my stealth and recon)
23:59:39 - Kraiger: Excellent shooting Stewart - saved my ass out there!
Mon Nov 11 00:00:18 - StewartBailey: Luck. Next you get to fly.
Mon Nov 11 00:00:54 - Kraiger: (Trying to hunt down the Zhodani - 2D6: 5 )
Mon Nov 11 00:01:08 - Methuslah: They are nowhere to be found. You find another hatch about twenty meters away, but it has been locked.
Mon Nov 11 00:01:14 - StewartBailey: Do you want to cover me while I go get that beacon?
Mon Nov 11 00:01:17 - Kraiger: (trying to burn ou my bad luck - 2D6: 9 2D6: 9 2D6: 9 2D6: 9 )
Mon Nov 11 00:01:34 - StewartBailey: (HA!)
Mon Nov 11 00:02:00 - Kit: (if you roll twice in the same line you will always get the same results because all rolls use the same random seed!)
Mon Nov 11 00:02:10 - Kraiger: OK, lets take a look (Kraiger gets in cover and watches for movement)
Mon Nov 11 00:02:55 - StewartBailey: I go get the beacon and bring it back to a covered position.
Mon Nov 11 00:02:58 - Kraiger: (OK, test roll again 2D6: 7)
Mon Nov 11 00:03:19 - Kraiger: (Not as bad as all those fives... )
Mon Nov 11 00:03:33 - Kraiger: (I'll try to raise the ship again)
Mon Nov 11 00:03:57 - Methuslah: The beacon has not yet been completed - it is still only part assembled. Components lie on the floor, all around.
Mon Nov 11 00:04:12 - Methuslah: You cannot raise the station any more. The signal appears to be clear, however.
Mon Nov 11 00:05:37 - Kraiger: I _really_ don't like the looks of this!
Mon Nov 11 00:05:56 - StewartBailey: You're not alone.
Mon Nov 11 00:06:25 - Kraiger: Well, at least the Zhodani are as stuck as we are...
Mon Nov 11 00:06:48 - Methuslah: On that note, shall we wrap up for the night. It's past midnight GMT.
Mon Nov 11 00:06:47 - Kraiger: (I'll move the civilian bodies out of sight, and clooect their weapons)
Mon Nov 11 00:06:51 - Kit: (except they have a fleet in orbit)
Mon Nov 11 00:07:11 - Kit: (rats, another cliffhanger!)
Mon Nov 11 00:07:13 - StewartBailey: But *they* don't have PGMPs. Well, maybe they do.
Mon Nov 11 00:07:52 - Methuslah: Maybe they have FGMPs.
Mon Nov 11 00:07:56 - Kit: There were enough parts for some more in that storage! And we donT have them up and running yet!
Mon Nov 11 00:08:35 - Kraiger: This ship wasn't nicknamed "Alamo" was it
Mon Nov 11 00:08:58 - StewartBailey: Is this indeed the cliffhanger, or are we going on?
Mon Nov 11 00:09:03 - Kit: And there's still those high tech crystals and the gadgets we füund in Gus pockets.
Mon Nov 11 00:09:16 - Kraiger: Another good game, except for the poor shooting on my part! See you all next week
